Sewing Details and Process: I would like to share a little of the process and workmanship that goes into our "Hummingbird" tea towels which are made one careful step at a time here in our studio in Medford, Oregon. Three different machines and three different varieties of threads are used. The hummingbird itself is made on an embroidery machine using 40 wt. vibrant rayon threads and features 6 different colors. The embroidered detail across the bottom of the tea towel is made using a regular sewing machine and gorgeous 100% Egyptian cotton threads. And finally our signature rolled hem trim is made with a serger finishing the piece with a strong nylon thread in co-ordinating colors. We consider our tea towels to be "Heirloom" pieces as they have been designed and constructed to hold up and maintain their integrity and beauty over repeated use and the test of time.
