Not a Fan: A Follower's Story

Great movie to show those that believe but lack proper discipleship and the concept that we believe and then follow. This might also be good to show those that profess to believe, but have not really come to God with a broken heart, believing that they need a Savior and given thier lives to Christ in an ongoing relationship that continually cleanses us of unrighteousness when we confess and repent, but that also gradually changes and remakes us into the person God originally intebred us to be. It all begins with accepting Christ as Lord. If any are r a ding this and wondering what the reviewers here are talking about, I suggest that you find a good bible believing, bible teaching church full of "born again" believers and begin your own walk with Jesus Christ. Church does not save you, only the blood of Christ. Buy this movie, watch it, and search your heart. If you have sinned, as we all have, confess your sin to God with a humble heart, ask Jesus to come live in your heart and be your savior and Lord and you become a child of God fromvthat moment and and heir to the kingdom with Christ. Thereafter, you walk with the Lord by doing as he commands and praying for forgiveness when you mess up here and there. Study his word and pray everday. Find a good church full of born again Christians where you can learn about how others walk with Jesus and fellowship with them. This church is where you will spend your tine, treasures and talents building God's kingdom, one believer at a time.

I found this movie flipping through channels one night while lying in bed. The thing is, when it came on TV, it was only an excerpt from the full movie and so I would try to catch it when I could. Eventually my wife and I decided that we should just buy the movie and that's what we did and hear's why:Kyle Idleman does an excellent job explaining what it means to be a true follower of Christ. There are many, many "Christians" out there who think that they are followers because they go to church on Sunday and read their Bibles and pray from time-to-time. Unfortunately, that isn't exactly right, and it takes much more than that to be a true follower of Christ. Mr. Idleman shows exactly what the Bible says about being a true follower of Christ. It's not just being a fan as he says and doing what I mentioned above, but actually living a lifestyle. Just as Christ tells us to "deny ourselves" and to "follow Him daily," Kyle Idleman does an excellent job displaying this in "not a fan".He takes the life of a man, Eric Nelson, and shows the effect of a true life change after a near-death experience and how Christ desires for us to live while we are here in this world. I highly recommend that anyone and everyone watch this movie. The people I have told to watch it have said that it affected them and helped them see where they were being "fans". Some have changed, some have not. I hope and pray that if you watch this movie and are a fan, that you will decide that it is time to become a follower of Christ.

This movie/study is one of a kind and meant for continued circulation.

This is a different type of movie - it’s really an introduction to the study. We thought do the study - then do the full movie - that was the wrong thing to do. It’s really not a movie at all - but a long introduction as the study goes deeper into the lives and experiences.Would have been a good movie if had really been the start to finish without the narration throughout. That’s why I gave 4 stars.

Many times in life we live as though we only have ourselves to please. We don't only want to fulfil our needs, we are overcome with our WANTS. This story shows a man who suddenly realises there are other people in the world not as well off as himself and his family, who live in selfish luxury. He becomes aware through his contact with a street woman, that there are people don't have food to eat or a place to sleep. His wife who confesses to be a Christian, is really only a FAN of Christ. When her husband decides to become a FOLLOWER of Christ she is affronted by him wanting to sell off their huge wealthy home for a modest less cumbersome one.This story takes the viewer on a journey of discovering the important issues of life.Are you a Fan or Christ's with a show of being a Christian?Or are you a true Follower of His and live according to His example?This movie will confront you to think about where you stand.............

I loved it, gave you a real life look as to what a true follower of Christ looks like. I’ve only been a fan but after watching it, I am a Follower and a much happier person 🥰

I love this book! It gives a fresh look on the difference between "religion" and those who truly follow and obey Jesus!

I am a Pastor of a church and saw the movie on television. I like it so much that I decided to order the movie, but discovered there was a six week bible study that I could order also. I liked both very much because it causes anyone watching to evaluate their relationship with Jesus. There is no commitment with being a fan, but a follower is willing to lay everything down to serve.

This dvd asks the question whether you are a follower of Jesus or just a fan. It is very well done and should be shown in the churches across the nations.

The DVD entitled "Not A Fan" was very well acted out with an excellent message. A little hard to follow story at first but it all pulled together later on.
