This is really a great replacement unit to the ole LP/elec.
So other than it taking many more days to get this unit, ordered on Jan 27 was suppoed to deliver Feb 3-6,, did not finally show up at ABF terminal in Ocala till Jan 15th. SO yeah..Installing was at bit.. this was a right hindge and we needed left so all the door had to be switched.. They do supply teh stuff but being able to order from teh factory Left or RIght would be TONS better,, (looking at you dometic)The box actually width is 23.5" our opening was 23.75 more or less... It did slide in with a bit of shimming about..this replaces a 2005 RM 3862 in airstream. There is a bit of gap in place but not a big deal ws I am working on sealing the door on side and put foam in top leaving a slight open for wires from solar panel on top. The supplied mounting stuff has slots to allow air on top and bottom of unit so no need for outside air now..When we got door switched which is a bear.. we will put video up on rivetingjourney dot com soon showing the whole deal.. One tip if you wan to move the shelves forget the instruction.. We put screwer under the tab on side and just pop it back toward center of unit. and besure to get them how you want before mounting espeiclly is not able to open door all the way..When we got i wired up be sure to check voltage at terminals.. most of the time the 12 ga is a bit small.. I had a spare 10 ga from factory installed solar prewire and used that... It help add aobut .75 volts going form 12.5 to 12.9 on a 13.7 v lithium system. (that is loss in the wire a common issue with DC)When we first fired it up the amp draw was around 9 almost 10 amps. I got to looking around and took the rear cover off.. teh condensor is in a pan that the defrost water does in to eveporate out and help with cooling.. I pull the lip out poured some water in like 2 cups and teh amp draw droped to like 3 amps now..The cooper tube from compressor is covered in a plastic to help protect in teh water which collects in teh pan during defrost.. this is just my tip and many do not do this before hand and you get a high head and hot compressor pulling a ton of amps.. when i measured it later i was getting like 3.38 amp DC..If you stay in dry climates it might take a month to get water in there..THe unit gets to temp in like a hr and we then transfered food from the "temporary " refigator we got soon after thet LP stopped working and we found the Yellow Puddle of death..On level 2 the interior temp in bottom is consistant 40 -42 with freezer 10 deg.. The interior light is a weird azz color.. not white and blue a combo of the two.. maybe go to a 4300 kalvins spectrum light vs this bluewhite debocle.Final thought .. excellent product with more interior space vs the ole one.. yes it cheaper to get the new cooling unit and replace but this is so much better and yes it doube the cost but double thet fun and lots more space.VIdeo u soon on rivetingjourney . com

Good product overall...
We purchased this Dometic refrigerator to replace our old propane refrigerator after it caught fire. That's right our propane refrigerator caught fire and almost burned our RV to the ground!Well, no more propane fridge for us! This Dometic fridge works well and runs safely off of our 12 volt system. It keeps the ice cream frozen and the stuff in the fridge cold.Installation was easy *if* you are mechanically inclined. I had to cut and remove the old propane hose and add new, heavier guage wire for the 12 volt power from the interior fuse box.The 10cuft fridge fit perfectly where our old 8cuft fridge was, and looks great! If you're considering upgrading to a 12 volt fridge, you need the battery power to support it while driving, and solar panels while boondocking, but the SAFETY of NOT having an open flame behind a wall is unmatched in my opinion!I strongly urge all RVers to get rid of their propane fridge as soon as they can, and invest into a 12 volt fridge. I would recommend this fridge to anyone!

Great replacement
My fridge went bad on my RV. Being a combination Gas/ electric what went bad was the ammonia gas leaked and was very unpleasant. This one runs on 12v. Which means no gas. It wired easily to my 12v system which is powered by a converter when hooked up or off my house batteries while driving. It is also much larger inside and still fits in the same spot. It cooled down fairly quickly and the freezer works great keeping ice cream frozen. Now I can travel with out having to turn on the propane or generator and still keep my food cold and safe.

Overpriced junk, with useless warranty
Lasted less than a year before the evap fan started crapping out. Options for obtaining warranty service are terrible - limited dealers, and no mobile techs. This is especially bad since we are full timers, so we'll not only have to haul the rig two hours away, but hope we don't need a hotel room before they can get it done. Oh, and if you can get someone to order the part for you, its over $200 (comparable motors are $30-40).This thing cost as much as the residential refrigerator in my house that is twice the size, and you can bet my next rig will have a residential fridge in it - lesson learned. Dometic has (had?) a reputation for being a notch above the typical RV brands like Furrion, but I don't see it. I'll never buy so much as a light bulb from them again.

3 year max before I totally dies
I got mine brand new with my trailer, 2 years in the compressor died, took 6 months for a replacement because of back order issues and it was $200! Now less than 6 months later the entire fridge failed and is dead and needs to be replaced. It worked fine when it works although as a boondocker it does take a bit of power to run but I definitely won’t be replacing with the same model
