Just remove the protective cap and immerse the PH meter electrode in the solution and press the button to be measured. Beats the heck out of trying to see the colors of a litmus strip. Remove the protective cap and turn the meter by pressing the "ON/OFF" key, immerse the electrode in the solution to be tested, stir gently and wait around 30 seconds till the reading stabilizes. Wash electrode with distilled water and dry glass probe with a gentle wipe before replacing the protective cap for storage. And the test range is from 0-14pH with an accuracy of 0.01pH, you can know better the liquid which you gonna use.
