This is a great food when ‘on the go’. It has lots of protein and a ton of vitamins. The chocolate flavor is pretty tasty too.

These shakes are so good and super convenient! The Knockout Chocolate flavor tastes rich and indulgent, but I feel like I’m actually fueling my body with 40g of protein. I love keeping a few in the fridge for post-workout or busy mornings. Honestly, they make getting my protein in feel easy, delicious, and a little treat-like — total win! 💪🍫✨

This protein shake is excellent when it’s ice-cold — smooth, refreshing, and great flavor. But once it starts to warm up, the taste isn’t quite as good compared to other protein powders I’ve tried. If you keep it chilled, though, it’s a winner.

Love how this protein shake tastes, its not chalky like other protein shakes, smells good, 40g of protein for less than 300 calories. Its filling, and should be in your arsenal to help you reach your protein goals.

Muscle Milk is my protein drink of choice when compared to other major names in the same category. The main reason, is definitely the taste and consistency of the drink. It's thick with a consistency of a "shake" and the flavor is just right, not too overbearing. You can still taste the protein which isn't a good thing but it is the most bearable one to drink out of all the protein drinks. My personal favorite is Knockout Chocolate.

I've been trying different ready-to-drink protein shakes for years, and while Cytosport Muscle Milk Pro Series Knockout Chocolate delivers in some areas, there are enough drawbacks to make this a solid three-star product for me. It's not terrible by any means—there are definitely some pros—but I wouldn't go out of my way to buy it again unless it was on sale. First off, the positives. The protein content is impressive. At 32 grams per bottle, this shake gives a serious boost for post-workout recovery or as a high-protein snack during the day. For anyone who’s serious about strength training, that’s a solid amount without needing to scoop and shake anything yourself. The convenience of a pre-mixed bottle is a big plus. I can throw it in my gym bag or keep a few in the fridge at work without worrying about prep or cleanup. The packaging is sturdy and easy to handle, and the twist-off cap is secure enough to avoid spills. I also appreciate that the product is shelf-stable until opened, which means I don’t need to refrigerate them all right away—nice for stocking up. Now for the not-so-great aspects. Let’s talk flavor. “Knockout Chocolate” is a bit of a misnomer. While it’s not the worst chocolate flavor out there, it does taste a little artificial and overly sweet. The aftertaste lingers in a way that reminds me of cheap diet chocolate bars. I’ve had other chocolate protein shakes that manage to strike a better balance between indulgent and nutritious. This one falls short of that. The texture is also a bit thick and chalky, especially when not thoroughly chilled. It improves a little when cold, but even then, it doesn’t have the smooth creaminess of other premium shakes like Core Power or Premier Protein. If texture is a dealbreaker for you, this might not be your best option. Another small but noticeable issue: some bottles seemed to have slight inconsistencies in flavor, like the formula wasn’t perfectly blended across the batch. It wasn’t a huge issue, but it’s something I noticed after getting through a few bottles in the 12-count pack. Overall, this is a functional, decent product if your main priority is hitting a protein goal and you’re not super picky about taste. It’s convenient, protein-rich, and relatively affordable when bought in bulk. But if you’re looking for a protein shake that you’ll actually look forward to drinking, there are better options on the market. I’ll give it three stars—good in a pinch, but not good enough to be my go-to.
