The only reason I am giving this 4 and not 5 is because you actually need a drill not a screwdriver. It took me 2 hours with the drill but well worth it. One of the eaves on roof arrived broke, but it is only aesthetic. It is airing out on the porch. It may be a bit before my feral colony will use it. But now they will have a safe place to rest. New Orleans is not kind to cats. I am hoping this will help

The house is really cute and hopefully the stray that comes around will like it. A couple negative things about the house is the smell of it is horrible. We had to open our windows and air our house out because the smell of the cat house was so strong. Hopefully with it being outdoors it will air out okay. The other somewhat negative is that in the hotter weather this house will be quite warm to stay in so we may need to keep the lid open but thankfully we have the cat house on a covered front porch. In the winter I could see it staying warm though. Overall it seems like a good deal. Hopefully Pete will enjoy it.

Super cute cat house! It was easy to put together and feels nice and sturdy. I love that the roof lifts up for easy access. We're 100% satisfied!

Wow! What amazing packaging And directions! I was blown away by how well this was packed, with obvious care. The directions and labels were fool proof. Each type of screw and bolt was in a labeled bag. IKEA could learn from this company!The house is better than I thought it would be! Beautiful and our feral cats are already checking it out. So glad I went with this brand.

This cat house is SO cute. It’s way more attractive than the plastic bins I set up for stray kitties. It almost looks like a dollhouse.It is made from real cedar and smells strongly of it. If you are sensitive to smells or just don’t like cedar, I would put the bigger pieces outside for a day or two to air out. I love cedar so I was okay building it indoors the same day I got it.Putting together the house itself took less than an hour. All you need is a screwdriver, everything lined up and went together easily.I insulated mine with reflective insulation and foil tape, which took some time but wasn’t hard, and I’m not handy. I also carpeted the floors with removable carpet pieces and put a heating pad on the first floor. Talk about a deluxe suite!The roof is definitely not weatherproof. I insulated mine and then caulked the areas where water could get through. The outside of the roof is tarred but it could potentially leak at the gaps where the pieces go together.The only thing I’m not pleased about are the door flaps. Mine came bent and are useless—the air just blows right in. I tried adding another layer of “door flaps” with foil tape but it looks dumb and doesn’t work. I’ll have to find an alternative to block the wind.Overall, this is the best you are going to get for the price. I’m really pleased. I’m happy I bought it and hope some strays will have a five star stay this winter and I’m hoping the reflective insulation will keep it cool in the summer.

I was afraid the quail would not be good, but it was better than what I imagined. It is larger than I thought and my cats love it. I took the doors off during the summer months to allow for more air circulation and will replace them come winter.I do keep it on my front porch, so I am not 100% certain it would withstand rain.I do plan on sealing the outside and waterproofing the top.Overall I would recommend it.

This was the simplest item that I have ever put together. Everything was pre-cut, well marked on the instructions and went together extremely well.I liked the fact that the panels have wood dowel connectors as well as wood screws, this adds extra stability.The roof is real asphalt shingles. There are insulated pads for the inside floors. The two levels give the cat an extra feeling of security (my opinion).We had a raccoon checking it out last night and they either could not or did not climb into it. But, our elusive ferrel cat climbed right inside to eat some food I had put in there.My only negative is that the floor for the second floor is not screwed down (according to the directions), so it had a tendency with weight on it to lift up. So, I put in a corner brace bracket to hold the floor in place.It’s a great product.
