I've used those green government memorandum books my whole career. I have to admit, though, that I'm not a big fan of the color and have always wished that there was a way to protect my memo books better. When I first saw one of these I immediately snapped one up and fell in love with it. The leather cover looks classy in any professional setting, and it helps protect the memo book. I've had the cover for more than a few years and I've run quite a few memo books through the cover. The cover itself has started to show some wear but, like many things leather, the wear only adds character to the cover.I've been looking for a good notebook for my personal use. I love the idea of Moleskine, but they're a lot more fragile than I thought and they start to fall apart after some abuse. I never considered using the memo books because, let's be honest, they're just too damned ugly. Well, I bought another cover and now use those green memo books at home, too.One last note, the covers each do have their own character due to the nature of leather. This is great because I can tell my different memo books apart by the covers so I can just grab the one I need and go.This is a great product, thick tough leather, and it makes those green memo books look very professional.NOTE: Stay away from the memo books that don’t have the cloth covers. The cloth covered ones are tough. The cardboard ones fall apart too easily.

I am not in the habit of writing Amazon reviews; however, I thought this journal cover deserved an appropriate write-up.I use the green military-style notebooks (included with the purchase) daily for notes, lists and other items worth recalling. I tend to use up about a notebook per month. To add some class to the generic notebooks, I searched for a stylish cover for the the journal. There are not many options. I was pleasantly surprised by the DIY Indespensables leather cover.I was ever more pleased with the product when it arrived. It arrived in immaculate condition and as described in the description. It is thick, though not so cumbersome to limit folding when opening the notebook to use. The stitching is solid and appears professionally sewn. The quality hide adds enough heft to the notebook to suggest quality, but not too heavy to comfortably tote in a bag or in your hands. Obviously, the leather adds thickness to the overall size of the journal; though, in my opinion, not by much for the quality of the leather. Again, this is not a cheaply made product.I am exceedingly pleased with my purchase as well as the extremely reasonable price. In fact, I am so pleased with this product I will be considering the purchase of this leather cover for colleagues as gifts.

A true beauty. I’m not a leather type of gal, but knew the benefits of owning a leather-something/anything. I love the fact the simplicity but at the same time, the elegance of it. Easy to clean the scuff marks I put on it and appears to be durable. I will give it a couple more months and if it withstands the test of time, or the abuse I usually put my notebooks throughout the meetings, I will indeed purchase another.I must say, it really is great to have finally found this product. I have been on the search for several months for a refillable notebook cover. I even tried diy covers, but wasn’t satisfied. I also love the fact it covers the standard military notebook as we have so much at work for note taking.The authenticity is also very much accurate.There is just so many good things to speak about this particular cover but you must purchase it yourself.

I'm in the military and these little green notebooks are a staple. I wanted something unique but professional for record keeping and this has been everything I hoped it could be. Incredibly durable, and the perfect fit. It's used this extensively and daily for the past four months with barely more than a scuff on the leather. The price is a little higher than I wanted but it's the only thing I've ever found made specifically for these notebooks. Would recommend

I don't often do reviews - positive or negative - but I must make an exception for this item. I know, it's a leather cover. Big deal! You'd need to see and feel this cover to truly appreciate how nice it is. It is indeed thick, top grain leather with a very nice feel (and leather smell). The fit is perfect, just loose enough for the cover to slide within the purpose-build pockets, allowing your leader book to lay flat and then close back up nicely. I keep a few business cards tucked inside the front cover and a copy of AFI 36-2618 in the back cover. It is the perfect blend of classic and vintage. It does show scuffs from fingernails and other objects, but they rub out nicely with the natural oil content. Properly cared for, I imagine the leather will last for years.

This leather green book cover is what I would consider "understated elegance". It is simple, utilitarian, but a classic. It is not flashy but yet has drawn the eye and compliments of others. The smell of the leather is also an added bonus.I had a gortex ACU cover for my green books before but the inside of the material would melt or become sticky getting all over the green books which I keep for each tour. I only had the gortex one a couple years. This leather one looks like it will last a lifetime.The only thing I wish is that they allowed some customization work. I suppose if I was brave enough I could get some leather working tools and embellish it. Otherwise, I love this for my green books.

I love this cover! It adds some personalization to my notebook and it seems to be holding up very well after 6 months of use with a lifetime more under its belt. It does scratch somewhat easily but that just adds charecter i guess. The fact that it holds the navy logbooks is awesome for me in my line of work.

I've kept journals for a long time. This thing elevates the entire activity. Will last a lifetime.
