Far BETTER Deal on Fresh Tasty GREAT Chives for a TOTAL Chives Addict!
To say that I ♡ ♥ ♡ chives would be a MASSIVE understatement -- actually I'm an ABSOLUTE FIEND for chives!I'm totally addicted and put chives on or in practically EVERYTHING. Eggs, chicken, fish, homemade ranch dressing, potatoes (when I was still eating them), soups, pasta (and now that I don't eat regular pasta because of the carbs, I put them on Miracle Noodle Shirataki Pasta), chicken salad, tuna salad, egg salad, and so much more. In fact, just today, after coming across the suggestion online, I had some organic whole-milk cottage cheese (Kalona SuperNatural brand), mixed with a bit of organic sour cream (Kalona SuperNatural brand, again) and some chives and a bit of Himalayan pink salt, and it was DELICIOUS!So, as an absolute chives fiend, I've tried a few different brands, and I have to say that as a high-volume user, THIS 1 quart tub of Mother Earth Dried Chives seems to be the BEST deal around -- especially getting it through the "Subscribe & Save" program on Amazon. For a short time, in the beginning, when I first tried (and loved) chives, before joining any bulk warehouse club (like Sam's Club or Costco) I used to buy chives in the small bottles/jars from the grocery store. But because of the high cost, I would have to use it, very sparingly, and was never able to put as many chives as I enjoyed. Then when we joined Sam's Club, I started buying the somewhat bigger 1.12oz shaker of Tone's Chopped Chives and I could use chives a lot more liberally than when buying it in the tiny bottles from the grocery store. However, though I bought this brand of chives ALL THE TIME, when I was a member of Sam's Club sometime ago, for many reasons, including personal principles & beliefs (among other things, being opposed to the politics, and human rights stances [or rather the sheer lack thereof!] of the Walton family who own/run Sam's Club along with Walmart) we cancelled our membership at Sam's Club, and joined Costco, which for the most part, I absolutely LOVE.Unfortunately, UNLIKE Sam's Club, none of the local Costco branches that I've been to, seems to carry chives! Worse, that seems to be one of the ONLY items I used to buy in bulk from Sam's Club and want to buy in bulk, that I cannot find at Costco! :(As it makes no sense to get a Sam's Club membership again, just for one item (not that I'd ever even consider it, since I detest the Waltons/Walmart and their ethics & values or rather their absolute lack of any!) as a chives addict I'd either have to get the tiny & expensive bottle from the regular store that would last me maybe a few days at most, and pay $4 or $5 each time, or grow my own chives, which I'd do if I didn't have a notorious BLACK thumb, and am unable to even keep houseplants alive! So since I have an Amazon Prime membership anyway, I looked on Amazon, and found the Tone's Chopped Chives, and I bought it once, and enjoyed it. Unfortunately, I soon realized that the price was more than double what Sam's Club charged for the same size (its been a few years since I've been a member of Sam's Club, but IIRC it was like $3-$4 for the 1.12 oz shaker at Sam's and like $10 for the same size shaker on Amazon), and so I started browsing and comparison shopping for other brands & sizes of chives on Amazon, to see if I could find a better deal, and I did when I saw the listing for this 1 quart tub of Mother Earth Dried Chives which is also around $10 -- but for a much larger quantity (1.12 oz VS 1 quart), and when I get it through the "Subscribe & Save" program its a much better deal than getting it in grocery stores, or getting the 1.12 oz shaker of Tone's Chopped Chives on Amazon.Because, not only do I save a lot of money (and have more freedom in the amount I'm able to use) buying chives in this larger container, but this brand seems to be a much better quality product than any other dried chives that I have tried including Tone's Chopped Chives. When you look at the contents of the tub, the chives are a much more vibrant green than other bottled chives -- and the looks are not deceiving. These chives have a noticeably fresher taste than I have found in other brands. The only way to get better chives would be to grow them fresh in your own garden -- and since I seem to have a BLACK thumb, so growing my own doesn't seem possible in the forseeable future, this is probably the next best thing. Even though these are dried chives, they are so fresh and tasty, and in the opinion of this confessed chive addict, are DELICIOUS in just about everything!!!

Fresh, Flavorful, Unbelievably Low Priced
Update...I've found I use even more dried chives than I did before because of the incredibly low cost and great flavor! I am about to order my 4th jar. Excellent, consistent product!**********************************************************I recently needed to cut garlic and onion (previously my two staples for almost any meal!) out of my diet. Dried chives have been my savior but I was spending a fortune on the little Mc**** bottles in the grocery store. After thoroughly combing through the reviews on Amazon for different bulk brands and vendors I went with this based on the feedback. Couldn't be happier! Fresh, aromatic, and flavorful. I actually prefer it to what I was buying in the grocery store. I'm back on ordering a second jar.

good flavor
The taste of dried chives is stronger than that of fresh chives, and it’s delicious when you just add a little to the soup. The only downside is that my jar has a lot of black chives, so the overall freshness is not very good, but the fragrance is really strong, and it is easy to store, the overall is still very good, it is worth recommending to friends.

Delicious
This is a cheaper bulk price if you like to use Chives often.Use to flavor baked potatoes with salted creamery butter, sour cream, salt & pepper. Great (in small doses) to add flavor to Ramen soups & Cup O Noodles. Now that I made u hungry, please buy these if you like chives. You will not regret your purchase.

Good quality; less value than the larger bags of chives.

Perfect size jar!
I love chives. But as much as I love chives, I know I'd wind up buying fresh chives and toss them due to them going bad because I didn't eat them fast enough. Sooooo, dried chives are a better choice for me. I was buying dried chives from the supermarket in those regular-sized bottles, but would run out too soon, so when I saw these I had to buy a jar. Not only does the jar contain a goodly amount of chives, but they smell and taste stronger that the smaller bottled ones. I love mixing them with my scrambled eggs....any kind of eggs actually, or in salads or on fish.....pretty much everything. As much as I use them, I still have about a half jar left. Could be because I don't need to use as much of this brand. I'll definitely buy this again when/if I run low!
