Restored my V6 Dyson to like new again!
When you first install this new brush roll, the bristles are quite stiff and when used even on low pile carpet it will stall out the motor. Use it for about 5 or 10 minutes on regular hard flooring to help get the bristles conditioned. After that, run it on carpet, low or thick, but only pull it backwards. Lift it off the carpet, move it forward, set it down, then pull backwards. After a few minutes of this, the bristles will be broken in and you will be able to use it as normal. It works REALLY well after the break in - I'd say even better than the original Dyson brush bar. This new brush bar restored my knackered old Dyson into a beasty cleaning machine again. I also did a full tear down of the cyclone and cleaned it and replaced the filters. I spent maybe $50 between all the parts and my old V6 runs like new again. Last year I replaced the battery with an aftermarket and it's worked really well too. It still holds a strong charge. All that to say, its worth refurbishing these Dyson's as they have more life in them their few worn out parts. Worth the investment of time and a few dollars to keep it running like new and out of the landfill.

It fits but check the cap
READ FIRST_________The New Brush Did Not Fit At First. Then I noticed the old end bearing on the old brush had broken off-In the end Cap(The one you take off to remove the brush). Took a phillips screwdrive and worked the old/stuck bearing out of the end cap. Then installed the cap over the bearing on the new brush. Then reinserted the new brush, with the old end cap attached to it, back into the housing and used a quarter to lock it in.

Don't fit v10 Dyson Animal. Low quality. See pictures.
*UPDATED REVIEW 10/31/2025* Old review is still accurate. The red replacement part promptly ripped itself out of the vacuum about a week later. I had to replace it with the old red version to keep it usable. Black one is holding solid. Again, do not recommend these for Dyson Animal V10 model. *OLD REVIEW* Very cheap replacement for genuine Dyson bristles. These BARELY fit the vacuum correctly, and are mostly wrong for my v10 Dyson. See my pictures and descriptions. I would buy something else next time, they don't fit well and I don't feel they are going to last very long. The Dyson ones were actual rubber, and were strong. These are all fabric and I doubt they'll last a year before they fall out or snap. The width of the black was fine, but the red one is so much more narrow it inst held by the Dyson correctly. The one positive is that the provided screwdriver worked very well and helped me disassemble the device easily.

Handy Replacement Strips for Dyson V8/V10
These replacement rolling brush strips are a solid solution if your Dyson V8 or V10 vacuum starts to feel sluggish or the suction head isn’t moving smoothly. Installation is straightforward, and the included screwdriver makes it easy to swap the old strips out yourself. As part of routine maintenance, it’s recommended to replace these every 2–3 months depending on how often you use your vacuum. The package comes with 4 strips and 1 screwdriver, so you’re well-stocked for a few replacements. The only reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 is that they’re basic strips. Functionally they work, but there’s nothing fancy about them. Still, they do the job and keep your vacuum running smoothly.

So impressed!
100% Satisfied. I love my Dyson and was so disappointed that the brush roller is not available from Dyson. I watched a YouTube video of a guy who replaced the strips. I have a v11 outsize and these strips fit tightly. The brush bar for this model is longer so I had to use a full strip plus part of the 2nd strips that are provided. I could not be more pleased with this product, and I’m always skeptical of knock off replacements! You will not be disappointed! My $800 vacuum is now functional! The first photo is of the original worn out strips.

Great off brand replacement.
I’ve had a Dyson six for nine years now. I’ve been able to keep it alive with aftermarket battery. And now this product.. It was easy to attach and works perfect.

It’s not as nice as OE
This is between 2-3. Why you ask it’s just a roller and cheaper than the over priced dyson OE. The bristles are all loose meaning they shift in the track that they are set in. like it was cut too short and to much of a gap causing a lot of shift. And the red bristles are not as tight as the OE

Didn't fit my motor head
This replacement brush did not fit my existing Dyson motor head. This may be because I have replaced the motor head previously, so I wouldn't necessarily criticise either Amazon or Dyson for this in this case I've just bought another motor head, which should solve the problem.
