Great!
This works great! I cook my eggs for 2 minutes for 2 eggs and they come out poached hard! They pop sometimes, but if you have a cup of water in the microwave, I find that helps! The plastic is a little flimsy, but as long as you are careful it’s good! I recommend cleaning this after use rather than waiting as it is an easier clean when you first finish eating.

Great egg cooker!
I wanted a safer alternative to my old plastic microwave egg poacher that is probably not BPA-free, so I ordered this one. I'm so glad I did, because it cooks my egg much better than my old one ever did. First of all, it's not really a "poached" egg because you don't have to add water to it so the texture is different. I consider it a plus because you don't have to drain off any water before you eat it. I use this because I sometimes want a quick egg (1 minute, 15 seconds on 50% power in my 1000W microwave oven) that has a completely cooked white with a slightly runny yolk. I only eat one egg at a time, so I don't know what the time would be for two. Tips on using this egg poacher: I always spray the cup with cooking spray and have never had a problem with egg sticking to the bottom. Also, I always puncture the yolk with a toothpick a few times in order to prevent explosions in my oven. It also seems to help the egg cook more evenly. I have read a few complaints that this poacher is too flimsy and it flops around when you try to carry it. Using both hands, carry it with your thumbs on top to keep the lid in place and use your fingers spread evenly underneath the side along the length of the poacher and you won't have a problem at all. It's really just common sense and unless you're literally all thumbs, you shouldn't have a problem moving this thing around without spilling your eggs. It's quick, easy to clean and seems to be very durable. Very glad I purchased this item!

Surprisingly good but has one flaw
It's been a lot of fun to read all of the different reviews; lots of adventure and good advice! Having tried a couple of microwave poachers with less-than-satisfactory results, I had my doubts. However, thanks to all the guidance from reviewers, this one has worked very well, except for one flaw. But first, here are my results (adventures): 1. First I tried manufacturer's instructions of 2 minutes at 50% power. Wasn't worried about explosions since I have an 800-watt microwave and everyone else seems to have more powerful ones. At this setting and time, the eggs were not fully cooked. 2. Second, I tried 50% power at two and a half minutes. This was a little too much--I ended up with hard yolks (I like them just a little bit runny). 3. Third try at 50% power and 2:20 minutes came out pretty good for one egg--however, the white of the other egg was only partially cooked (just a small area that I spooned out). I should mention that my microwave has a rotating plate, so that's not the problem. NOTE: On the first few tries I followed some reviewers' instructions and punctured the egg yolks with a toothpick. Fine. The fourth time I forgot, and actually the eggs came out better. No explosions. I expect this is because I have a less powerful microwave. Also, I tried using a plate so the poacher wouldn't droop, but found that it caused the eggs to cook more unevenly. So now I'm just very careful about lifting the poacher into the microwave; I lift it by the ends. PROS: Works well once you dial in the power and time. Outrageously easy to clean. I wipe the cups with olive oil first. The eggs slide right out with a spoon, and a little rubbing with my fingers and soap and water, and the poacher is clean. No explosions, whether you poke the yolks or not. CON: The poacher cooks unevenly. One egg is always a little more "done" than the other. Not using a plate helps a little, but there is still a difference. Would have given this five stars except for the CON above. I hope this information is helpful.

gets the job done 5/8 times
i have been hunting for a 2 egg microwave egg poacher for some time and have bought a couple that were useless after a couple attempts. this one actually works so yay. but in an inconsistent way, and i cannot figure out why. 1) i've tried to use it plain but u must spray oil first or they stick and it's nearly impossible to get them out w/out breaking. 2) usually one minute and 1 egg comes out perfect but the other is raw still and runny with white part still clear 3) other times 1 minute and then 15 sec and both are perfect. 5) handling is an issue. you must retrieve from sides carefully or put on a plate to transfer to microwave. seems like a design defect. 6) lid must be perfectly secured and aligned or you will have egg all over inside of micro. overall glad i found an item that functions even if only sometimes and the look is nice. it's lightweight, easy to clean, and stores easily. just be aware of the functionality issues.

Making poached eggs with cheese
I bought this to replace a two-egg poacher made from hard plastic that had a broken hinge. To use, I lightly spray with nonstick spray and add one JUMBO egg to each side, poke both yolks with a fork and carefully put it into my 1200-watt microwave. I say "carefully" because when the eggs are raw, the silicone bottom half is very wobbly and flexible, and you can spill some raw egg if you're not careful. Then I set the oven to 50% power and cook for 1:50. I usually hear one "explosion" from an egg right at the end. I remove the cooker from my microwave and open the cover, then sprinkle some shredded cheese on both eggs, put the cover back on and return to the microwave. At this point the eggs are cooked enough to be somewhat firm, so the cooker is lots easier to handle than before. I set the power for 50% and cook for another 40 seconds, let it rest for about 30 seconds and remove the eggs with a small silicone spatula. They slide easily onto the plate. The eggs are cooked through and moist, not runny or dried out. The cooker is super easy to clean. These are jumbo eggs, so if you use medium or large eggs, they will probably cook faster. Great purchase, makes breakfast easy.

Yes! It really DOES work!
As others have commented here, this is the first microwave egg poacher I've found that really works! As a bonus, it's the easiest to use and cleans up easily, too. I've had 3 or 4 microwave egg poachers in the past, some needing precise, small amounts of added water, some having the egg explode if not pricked before cooking, and all requiring at least modest cleaning effort before being used for the next batch of egg(s). Key features: -) Base made of not-too-floppy silicone rubber. This really reduces the stickiness, even without use of cooking spray; in the worst case, just run it under the faucet for a few seconds, shake off, and it's ready to go for another round. -) Designed with good structural ribs, robust feet, and a nice grab handle/tabs sticking up from the middle and out the sides. All this means that it sits flat and doesn't flop around and spill your egg while you're moving it to/from the microwave. -) Rigid *clear* plastic lid with vent holes, grab handle in middle. This sits loosely on top of the base, around a small molded ridge. With its fairly large volume and only gravity holding it in place, it releases steam pressure around all sides quickly by just rising a bit, and doesn't go flying off as I've seen with some other poachers. -) Cleans up well in the dishwasher or sink. Just put the base in the dishwasher top rack sideways -- otherwise the crannies on the bottom will collect water and not drain during the cycle. -) It actually makes decent moist runny-yolk poached eggs.

UPDATE: Doesn't work as well because top cracked
Norpro Silicone Microwave Double Egg Poacher UPDATE 11-4-18 The clear plastic top cracked and now it doesn't fit the same, probably less of a tight fit. It takes longer to cook the eggs. The top might break into two pieces in which case the top will be useless. I have always treated the top gently, and I've never dropped it. I have not even washed it in the dishwasher. So disappointed. I used to love this. But it only lasted a little over a year, and now I'm on Amazon looking for a different one. I won't buy this one again. 10/6/2017 I love this. I have a 1000 watt microwave with a turntable. Here's what I do: 1. I place the poacher on a ceramic dinner plate, because by itself it's a little "floppy." 2. Spray each compartment with spray oil. 3. Break one egg in each compartment. 4. Pierce each egg yolk about 6 or so times with a fork. I think this stops the eggs from exploding in the microwave. 5. Season as desired. I add a little salt. 6. Microwave at 50 percent power for 2 minutes. 7. Done! I like the yolks slightly runny. Your time may vary. I experimented to find the best time for my microwave by microwaving at power 50 for 30 seconds at a time, then another 30 seconds, until they were like I wanted them. After a few days of doing this I figured out the 2 minute total time that works for me. For me, eggs cooked this way have the taste and texture of "real" poached eggs and are so easy. This method is so dependable. If your microwave doesn't have a turntable, you might want to try turning the poacher halfway around, halfway through the cooking time.

Works! Quick, Convenient, Easy to clean
I wanted to write this in case it helps some others. This things works, but prepared to do a little experimentation. So far I only tried cooking one egg at a time even though this can do two. I only need one because I tend to either put it in a perfect Bacon bowl or just make a breakfast sandwich. Also, I'm not having the spilling or carrying problem others are. I just carry it with the lid on and my hands underneath. It only took 2 eggs before I got the third one perfect for me. -------My settings for One egg, 1300 watt Microwave--------- Spray the inside of the of the base with nonstick cooking spray. On my 1300 watt Microwave oven (Which is basically a pain because it overcooks everything and lies about its power levels), for a SINGLE egg, I set it to 40% power level and 1 minute 12 seconds. Comes out perfect. Raw running yolk and fully cooked whites. You might do 1 minute 10 seconds if you want a tiny bit of run in the whites as well. Has been working every time for the last couple of weeks. I'll update this review if I figure out the perfect settings for two eggs. Remember, microwaves vary, so my main point is that be prepared to move your power levels down and some microwaves need far less time then the instructions let on. Of course I'm only doing one egg at a time.
