Melon Cradle 10 Packs Pumpkin Stand Plant Support for Cantaloupe Melon, Squash, Watermelon

These made the perfect little cradle to keep my cantaloupe off the ground. I'm using them for the second time this year and they're still in excellent condition, they'll last for years!

The media could not be loaded.  2 of them were cracked. The box was not damaged so I imagine they were shipped with 2 cracked inside. As for the rest, they are big enough to hold a watermelon and the plastic seems to be a heavy type so it can last. Just a little bummed that 2 were cracked but I will still try to get some use out of but they may not last as long as the others.

Great price on a handy garden helper. These cradle the squash, keeping it above the dirt and water. The single spike goes into moist soil. Now it's up to me to keep the pests away and let the squash grow.

I got these to put under my winter squash that have an edible skin. When they are on the ground the skin gets all bumpy and that part is not edible. I thought about making something to keep the squash off of the ground - a small wooden frame and then stapling on a piece of plastic mesh to the frame. As I type that, I just knew that was too much work to ever have happen! ;-)So, I sprang for these to give them a try. They seem nice and sturdy - plenty sturdy enough to keep a 5# squash off the soil. And they look like they will last many seasons. My garden is snow covered right now here in WI, so this rating of 5 stars is based on my impression of the product, not on my actual use. Once I try these in my 2024 garden, I'll update this review.===============================================August, 2024Well I have had a chance to try these and downgraded my rating to 3 Stars. Here's why:1. You have to lift the squash (or pumpkin, or melon) up quite a bit to fit this under the fruit - it's because of the spike on the bottom. I was being super careful lifting up a small squash to place this holder and it broke the stem. :-(2. I had one or two squash that I was able to get up on the holder, later roll off.They are just not working very well. My 3 Stars might be generous.In order to get these to work, I ended up sawing off the spike on the bottom. They now slide right under the squash and so far, none of the squash have rolled off.

Received items today, they were packaged in a shipping envelope rather than a box and obviously the envelope had been taped up. Opening it to discover 4 of the 10 were broken, 3 with ground points broken off and the 4th the cradle was broken. These seem to be of a low quality plastic. I have some I bought from somewhere else 8 years ago and they are still going strong, pliable not brittle. Would return but it would cost me more in gas money to drop it at a UPS center than to just toss the 4.
