Great CD and great music!
Nothing bad on this CD. My husband heard it the first time (Dead skunk in the middle of the road), going to jump school in North Carolina way back in the very early 70's. I got it for him and he's enjoyed it immensely.

One hit wonder
Only listen to one song on the whole album because the rest are lousy.

What a find
As always, on time and as advertised.C'mon, who doesn't need Dead Skunk In The Middle of the Road? This is another that I have been serching for over many years, but with an added twist. My memory, flawed as it is, remembered this to be a Lynrd Skynrd work. When I 'discovered' Amazon, his name brought up Loudon Wainrights' as well. Another years long mystery solved in seconds.

a great surprise
not familiar with this artist until his and his children's work in the Aviator. Musician and entertainer rolled into one

The third by the third
Now when this album first hit the air waves in Auckland, it was the dead skunk song that was thrashed to death and sang along with at stoned and drunken student parties (with added variations of dead possums/cats and big rats for a more local flavour). So my memory of that particular song is it was a rollocking filibuster of a ditty. Not much core memory remains of what else rested in the vinyl other than there was bit of rock and roll and Loudon whine and quirk. Then there was the hairy backwoodsman cover. So, as is often the irritating way of distant songs, one Loudon song kept buzzing away in the deep swirls of my grey matter "Muse, oh muse, where are you.." A fragment. So, seeing it cheaper than chips as a CD, I sent away for it and on arrival gave it the test run. Dead Skunk is a bit tinny but still chuttles along. Muse blues remains the stand out track and overall the entirety it is listenable but patchy. You sense the tsunami of quirk is about to take over and does. Now in Australia I can add wombats, roos, cane toads.
