Heavy Duty Ring ready for work
These rings are no slouch. They are fully welded and well plated. The thickness of the round metal is 7/32" or just shy of 1/4" which means that the strapping is likely to fail long before the ring will. While I don't know about these rings for sure, but zinc plated steel chain of this dimension usually has a load capacity above 1500 pounds, so these rings mean business. The rings are magnetic so they are of some grade of steel and not plated brass.Just so everyone is clear, the listed dimension of these rings and all other rings are for the width of ring on the INSIDE, so if you have 1-1/4" strapping, these rings are what you need. These rings take that measurement from the flat part of the "D". The widest inside dimension is 1-7/16" measured approximately 3/8" from the inside edge of the flat side. The widest inside dimension between the inside edge of the flat side and the inside edge of the rounded side is 1-3/16". As for outside dimensions, the widest part parallel to the flat side is 1-29/32" or pretty close to 1-7/8". The widest part perpendicular to the flat side is 1-11/16". As for weight, a single ring weighs 1.1 ounces. I would not call this heavy given the size of the ring and thickness of the metal. My use for these rings is to make straps to quickly hold down cargo on luggage racks, ATVs, backpacks, whatever. I take a length of woven nylon or cotton webbing and loop it through two rings and then sew the loop closed. This technique also works for a belt to hold up your pants. I would not recommend using D-ring straps to hold down cargo on a vehicle other than when off-road since it can be worked loose from vibrations and movement, but a lot of that depends on the strapping used.

Heavy duty, nice finish
I use these D rings on some thick 1.25 inch polyester straps for tying down canoes on a trailer. The rings have a smooth nickel finish so that the straps are easy to thread and loosen. I can pull the straps tight with my full weight without breaking or bending the rings.

Very happy with the quality of this welded D ring
Super strong. We used it as a replacement on a dog collar which had a non-welded D ring. Very happy with the quality of this welded D ring.
