A Fun Book to Have as Reference
We have watched an abundance of British crime shows and this book helps to understand the meaning behind some of the slang used. It has a permanent home on the coffee table for reference.

Translations for fans of British TV
My first copy arrived slightly damaged. I was pleased with how quickly and painlessly I got an undamaged copy in the mail. I have not had time to do a thorough review, but I can say I am impressed by the scope, organization, and tone of the book. In vain I sought one sample common word (I've forgotten which one, unfortunately). The author acknowledges that the book is incomplete in covering a constantly changing field. Perhaps there will be updates, with input from readers.

Great for British TV watcher
My husband and his friend watch a lot of British tv and compare the speech and slang . They thought the book was really fun to see the common British phrases.

An absolute must read
Absolutely love this book. I am planning a trip to the UK in the fall and this is a great read AND are-read for reference. There is only one error in the book (a double print, not an error of content) and I highly recommend this. Offers examples, diagrams, and is a comprehensive list of what I need to know driving to and spending time in the countryside.

IT'S NOT A NOVEL
I love it, absolutely. MANY ENGLISH BOOKS I READ, mysteries, romance, historical novels, have delightful phrases. I wanted to know what was being said. English DVDs also come out with different, funny words which I write down then look them up in this charming, easy-to-find definitions.

Great book - bad quality
I purchased this book as a gift for Christmas. The gift was well received and the book itself is awesome! I just wish it hadn’t of been marked when it arrived as I didn’t have time to get a replacement before Christmas and the damage was very noticeable.

My American brother in law loved this!
Given as a gift to my American brother in law as a Christmas gift and he absolutely loved it, my sister said it was very helpful as he kept asking her for slag translations since moving here a few months ago. We all had a few giggles and learnt a few things our selves.
