Worked for me
I didn’t buy this for a door but rather double windows that are larger than the window package 3M has. This product worked perfectly for the winter months! I didn’t expect it to stay flat as it’s normal for the plastic to become one big bubble when the barometric pressure in the atmosphere rises, so I left some slack in it when applying it. I also did two lines all around the window of the adhesive tape that comes with this item. Also - I attached it to the wall outside of the window, not the window pane as I felt this was better coverage and less likely to leak. One thing that I think most every one can agree on - I wish the adhesive was stickier! Had it not been for the two rows of the tape then it definitely would have come undone.

seems to work, will see if it falls down later
Here is what I suggest when installing this.Have scissors, painters tape, rubbing alcohol, paper towels.1) Fully clean the surface where you going to stick the double-sided tape. Then suggest you use a paper towel and rubbing alcohol to clean those surface once more. Let it dry completely, then apply the double stick tape to that surface. DO NOT peel off the paper side yet or you will have a total mess.2) Unfold that plastic folded sheet completely and do a dry fit to see how much excess you will have on each side. I know the instruction says cut it to size, but I cut it at the very end.3) Suggest you double line if possible of the double stick tape for the top, only if you have extra once you have applied the tape all around first.4) I suggest use a piece of blue painters tape to temporarily hold the two top corners. When you expose 1st the top double stick tape to stick the sheet plastic first.5) Then do the left and right side. Pull away the paper tape backing of the double stick tape slowly as you go. This way you don't have the plastic sticking by itself and making a mess.6) last is the bottom to do, same pull off the double stick paper backing slowly as you go along.7) Once all sides are done just go back with your scissor and have it glide cut the excess easily. The double stick paper backing is a pain in the neck to remove. Just have to be patient. It doesn't go skin tight like the indoor type but it does work to insulate and stop the cold .Overall looks okay and seems to work. Will update if it fails.

works ok so far for condensation
Got this to reduce condensation on windows in the winter. Works so far for 68 degrees F and 60-70% humidity inside and 30's outside. Compared to the Duck Brands equivalent stuff, it's more transparent/clear and has a more rigid rather than stretchy feel to it. Although the instructions don't say so, you CAN shrink it to get rid of wrinkles with a hair dryer. Currently using this indoors rather than outdoors as it's marketed - I figure that's fine rather than doing the reverse.

Patio door kit
Will not stay on your door if it’s exposed to weather and wind. Easy to put on but blew off.

A great way to keep the warmth in on those cold New England days.
I've used this weatherproofing kit on our outer windows for at least the last 20-25 years. Our house was built in 1884 and breathes through the walls and windows each winter. This winterizing kit for windows makes a huge difference in our natural gas bill and the comfort of our house. It's fairly easy to apply once you've read the directions. I buy an extra roll of tape along with the kit to make double rows of tape so that there is enough to hold it on tightly. I learned that lesson the first year I used it. Also, you really do need to clean the surface well before applying it to make sure it stays on during Noreasters! Once you've applied it, the blow dryer should get rid of any wrinkles. I use prepackaged alcohol prep wipes to get all the dirt and oils off the surface before applying the tape. It doesn't cost much but I think of it as insurance to make sure it lasts through the winter. You should clean the outer glass panes before applying so you don't have to look through dirty windows all winter. I absolutely love this product and wouldn't go thru the winter without it.Linneaann

Last year was great, this year TERRIBLE!
Last year we bought #M product because we had previously bought an off brand product which did not adhere at all. It worked fabulously last year. Stuck well and lasted throughout the windy Wisconsin winter. This year, it would not adhere at all despite perfect conditions. Yes, the frame was cleaned and prepped just like last year. The sun was on the frame, so it was warm. There was no wind to pull on the plastic as it was being put up. However, the tape would not adhere to the frame, the plastic would not adhere to the tape. Called 3M only to find out there is an expiration date on the product. It was 5 years expired! 2015! I just bought this product a month ago: 9/2020. So now it on our patio door with duct tape. Yeah-looks great. Thanks, Amazon, for stocking an expired product. It MIGHT hold through the first wind storm. Buyer beware-check your expiration date BEFORE you take it out of the box and return if expired!

So far it’s great!
I put this up last night and the tape already seems better then other brands I’ve used. It is very clear and I can’t tell it’s there when looking out the window. I did clean the boards so the adhesion would be as best as possible. They have a note in there about the plastic sheeting being stuck together and needing to use 2 pieces of tape to pull it apart. This is very true, you can’t even tell it’s folded it’s so seamless, so DO give that a try to open it fully.I start by adding the tape around the door first leaving the backing on, then unfold the plastic sheet and attach it to one tape side at a time. Pulling the backing off and sticking the plastic in increments as I go. This was very easy to pull of the tape and adjust when needed but still felt like it would stay sticking for a while.
