Thermos 2465SSB6 Hydration Bottle, 18 Ounce, Slate Blue

I hope they never stop making these. I am leaving the review in part to convince other people to keep buying them so that they stay in production. I've been through dozens of water bottles over the years. They break, they leak, they get lost, they get dirty...so they're a semi-disposable item. Because of that, I hate to spend too much on them. This one is definitely at the very top end of what I would pay, but I love these bottles so much that it's worth it to me. I have yet to wear one of these out after using them for years, but I have lost a few and I'm always sad about it because of the cost. Still, every time I try to go back to a cheaper water bottle, I come back around and buy another one of these instead. What's so great? It's the total package. Except for the top, they're double-walled steel, not plastic, so they are well-insulated. Your water stays cold longer and they don't sweat. The rubber grip is actually useful, so you don't feel like you're going to drop it. The size is perfect, holds enough water for a day's outings (around town, not a day of hiking) but not so much that it is overly heavy or bulky. The physical dimensions are a bit narrower than many other bottles, so it fits in almost every cupholder and backpack water bottle holder I've tried. It doesn't leak, ever. You can drink from it one-handed, and close it back up easily, which is a major priority to me. And these things are durable! I tried using it in a bike water bottle cage and it flew out when I hit a big bump (side note - it works better with some bottle cages than others, but it's not really meant for that application so this is just a bonus). The bottle was slightly dented but otherwise intact, and I kept right on using it with no issues. I'm on my 4th bottle, and I've never had one break or start to leak before I lost it. There are a couple of minor quibbles, but the totality of the bottle is so good that I overlook them. First, if you like to fill your bottle with ice, the opening will permit smaller cubes like you get from an icemaker but not the big cubes from a freezer tray, and you have to put them in somewhat slowly. But then again, it's insulated so well that you really don't need much, if any, ice. Second, there's no loop or other way to attach a carabiner or carry it with one finger. But that's a small price to pay for a bottle this good.

Love this water bottle ! keeps drinks cold. This is my second thermos bottle . I liked the first one so well I bought a second one after several years so I would always have one with me. I would definitely recommend this thermos bottle. Great value for the money and very durable.

My most trusted water bottle ever. This is my third purchase of this water bottle in 15 years. Yes, it is that reliable. First one I lost and my second recently had a broken piece (my fault for closing it incorrectly and forcefully). Would it be nice to have a hook or something to grab on to? Probably. But it is just the right size to easily care. I appreciate that the mouth piece is free of germs! The opening/closing mechanism ensures our hands do not touch the mouth piece. Highly recommend!

We like our Thermos Hydration Bottles very much. We always fill with ice and water before we leave the house or go to bed. The water stays cool a long time.

This is the second one of these bottles I have bought. The first one, with gray accents, I bought several years ago. It has served me well. But last year I was traveling, and the bottle and lid were washed (top rack) in a dishwasher that must have used much hotter water than mine at home. Because later on, down the road, I found the O-ring in the lid (shown by the arrow in the picture) was missing. I assume it stretched in the hot dishwasher and slipped out. So when I got home I ordered this bottle to replace my trusty old one. Then I decided to see if replacement seals were available. I went to the Thermos website, and sent an email to their customer service department, asking about it. I was able to give them the model number (2465TRI6), and at the price of a buck per set plus shipping, they sent me a three piece seal replacement set, also pictured. Because of the shipping cost I ordered a few sets just to have some backups on hand for the future. The new parts fit perfectly and my old bottle is back in service. But I decided to keep this bottle as well, and the replacement seal set will work for it if ever needed. I think Thermos calls this a "2465 Thermal Hydration Bottle," according to the item details on this product page. This bottle has been as effective and reliable as the original gray one.

I love it!! It does everything I wanted. It's the right size. It keeps water at what temperature I use. The pop top lid works beautifully. The only draw-back I found was the rubber hand grab around the middle keeps sliding up all the time. Other than that its on the money.

I purchased two bottles in different colors because I wanted to replace an 6 year older version of Thermos that I've had in the same size and shape holding 18 oz. that had been rated for both hot and cold beverages. I had purchased two of them back then as well in the stainless steel and black grip so I could have one for coffee with caffeine and the other one that was decaf coffee for myself. One of them worked better because the steel clasp fit tighter than the other one, but my partner was happy with it because he doesn't like his as hot as I like it anyway. It also worked well for hot tea. Unfortunately, when I wanted to buy them again, Thermos had discontinued their products and rated none of them for hot beverages, only as cold water bottles. I figured that it was likely because people like water bottles now and didn't drink as many hot beverages when they were exercising or whatever. Personally, I prefer drinking water that isn't cold as ice and just cool or room temperature so I can't comment on how long these water bottles will keep icy cold for ya. Now for the pros and cons of these newer thermos bottles that are not rated for hot beverages. Pro: I was correct that it will work to keep my coffee or tea piping hot for my morning routine at least 4 hours, even with pouring it out frequently to warm my glass mug while I'm working on the computer. I don't drink more than two 12 oz mugs of decaf coffee a day, but it does cool off faster than I like so that is why I keep it in the thermos. It also preserves the oils and flavor of my coffee better than when it sits in the glass carafe for two hours before my drip coffee maker automatically shuts off. It also saves me money because I'm not using electricity for two hours and that's energy efficient. If I don't drink all of it, then it stays warm for about 6 hours, and by the next morning, it is still tepid but I don't have to microwave it as long to finish it up. It also allows me to make smaller pots of coffee so that we can both enjoy our decaf or caffeinated preferences. I'm happy with them and would purchase again, but they aren't as sturdy or effective as my 6 years old version still are so I am hanging on to them as well. Con: Not as effective keeping the hot beverages as hot as my old ones because the heat escapes through the cap faster, although it appears to be the same basic style, the older caps were thicker plastic and likely kept the heat from dissipating as quickly as the thinner ones. To be fair, they aren't rated for hot liquids so no drop in stars for that. However, this would obviously affect the poorer results for keeping cold beverages cold so not a 5 star rating. Also, the opening is too small to add ice cubes to overcome that factor and I understand the complaints other reviewers have on it that expect 14 hours of icy cold water. Cleaning these are simple if you only use water and are not drinking it straight from the bottle and pour it instead into a different cup. For us, the coffee oils that eventually will discolor both glass coffee pots as well as the thermos requires soap and scrubbing the brownish stains each week so it is not easy to keep them clean as again, the opening is super small and most brushes will not fit into them. I dropped a star for that because I'm sure there are folks that like to put ice tea in their thermos occasionally. Finally, the leak proof claim is dubious since the latch will pop off way too easily if you accidentally knock it over. If it is placed in a cup holder while traveling, it would likely be fine. Hope my review has clarified some of these issues that have come up in other reviews as I appreciate honest opinions of customers who have purchased these.

These are the best hydration bottles. I make up True Citrus products in a half gallon container for fridge, True Lemon and True Lime single packs (use 4) and water. With Kidney Disease I have to watch what I drink besides plain water. Often I mix 3 sleeves plus coconut water which helps with muscle leg cramps. These bottles are stainless and Ive used them for many years in my recumbent trike bottle holder when riding. I live on a 48 mile Rails to Trails and all the cyclists use them here. One finally wore completely out (dropped them too often over about 15 years) and clamp on top was difficult to open so bought a new one which is exactly like the older ones, except in blue which I really prefer and has a clear top. If you like a bottle without a straw, this thing is the bomb.com! Perfect size. I also keep one by my recliner as a water bottle and one at my bathroom sink for taking meds and for first thing in the morning water. Also keep one by my bedside, as do not want to use plastic bottles anymore at all. I have probably 6 or 7 of them. They are about 10$ more than when they first came out but that has been many, many years. Still worth the price. Love the rubber ridged holder built in at the perfect place to hold it and love the diameter of the bottle. It's a great product. Buy one, and you will buy more that's for sure. Very high quality product.

Me gusta mucho la botella ya que conserva el agua fría por mucho tiempo. El hecho de que la boca de la botella es ancha permite ponerle hielos a la bebida. Genial para las épocas de calor.

Excelente qualidade, mantém a bebida gelada por muitas horas, além disso é do tamanho de uma garrafa pequena de água, leve, bocal ótimo, não vaza nada, cabe no porta copos do carro e na bolsa.

Second one of these i've purchased. Works well, easy to drink out of, holds about 2 cups of liquid and keeps it nice and cold. Only problem is with it being tall and slim it's easy to knock over and the lid is breakable. The shape works well with bottle holders, but a stainless lid that's good and solid would be a great improvement.
