RingAutomotive RDC30 Parking Mode Dash Cam & Improved Night Vision, Black, 150° Lens

This dash cam is a bargain, featuring Wifi and GPS. Using the Ring app was a bit fiddly so i don't really bother and instead review my footage on the 3" screen or by just popping out the micro SD card and sticcking it in the card reader of my PC. I bought this to replace my Toguard dash cam which fell apart and cost almost twice what i paid for the Ring. The highlights of this Cam are: 1_Very cheap for a name brand 2_150 degree wide angle footage 3_Great low light footage 4_GPS giving mph on footage as well as position. 5_Magnetic mount meaning you can pull camera off leaving the mount still attached. 6_Wifi and has an app for Smartphones to view real time footage or look at recordings. 7_The "Rec" button flashes red when recording and there is a button on the side to turn the screen off while in use to avoid distraction but you know it's recording because the Rec button flashes even when screen off. This is a bargain.

Easy to set up and get using right away. The app isn't great though, so I would avoid that - I have read other reviews stating the same thing - hopefully that will receive an updated. For those on a budget, this is decent.

I have had budget (£20 to £30) DashCams for years. I wanted a slightly better picture quality. This DashCam delivers in that area. It is not Nexar clear, but it is a good picture.So 5 stars right? Wrong. There are a few issues which need to be addressed, which would make this great.The Maximum size of the Memory card is 32GB. This is quite small in this day and age - to the point where I could not find a spare card in Walmart (all U3 cards were 64GB and larger). We really should be looking at a limit of at least 128GB.Reliability. While it showed as recording, some of the cards then came out blank. The second half of my trip through Death Valley is missing entirely - the card is simply blank. Obviously this is not a major issue, Mrs K will not get to see it. However if I was to have relied on it for insurance reasons, I'd be very upset now.Also, the first few recordings were broken. You'll need to power the camera for a significant period before it holds enough power to shutdown gracefully. If it does not shut down properly, the file is not closed, and cannot be played.In summery, it's a decent picture for the money, but too un-reliable to be useful as a DashCam.

For the price of this camera you really can't go wrong. The only really annoying things I had are the app keeps crashing every 30 seconds and the error message just showing lines of code meaning I can't work out what exactly is going wrong and secondly, really the size of the thing meant I struggled to get it in a decent position. Again, for the price you can't go wrong, I would personally avoid the app and just plug it in and go maybe look for an adhesive mount instead of these suction ones, they really aren't that good and it'll fall off eventually, probably in the middle of a drive.

The camera is compact and neat. The suction cup isn't very strong, so I regularly have to reattach it to the windscreen. The picture quality is pretty good, it has a great wide angle view. My main problem is that I can't get it to connect to my phone with the app. I've tried following the instructions and even Googled it, but it just doesn't work. This is disappointing because that was the main reason I bought it.

Hi, the dash cam was delivered on time. The box seal was broken so was not brand new. Amazon did offer refund. The camera is easy to set up and suction is good. The app is also good and I can connect and download videos and photos easily. The quality of dash cam is ok for the price. The day and night quality is not the best but you can see vehicles. The vehicle registration is hard to read though when car is being driven and you will need to be really close to view. Overall, the honest review is that it is not best for insurance or accident to have and I would spend more for better view camera. Thanks

This was a replacement for a different make i had had for some years. My micro SD card was not enough to make it work so ordered a larger gb card. Put cam in car and everything worked straight away no setting of date etc needed. Never had to check quality of recording yet, but happy so far with purchase

Disappointed because I bought it for the GPS and couldn’t use it. I contacted the Ring support by email, they tried their best but it wouldn’t work.The only good thing about it was the picture quality!I have been informed to send the item back for a replacement/refund.
