A dark and unique read
I’m a big fan of Measha Stone. I met her through her books Beast, The Tower, and Red (the Ever After series of stand alone books), among several other of her works. This story, however, is quite a departure from her usual body of writings. And let me say at the outset that this is one satisfying read! I loved it.The first part of this book is a dark read, difficult in spots due to the excellent writing of Ms. Stone. The remaining part of the book, while also quite dark, is so satisfying that I almost purred.Thank you Measha Stone for an engaging, suspenseful, excellently written story. I loved it. The characters were portrayed so well, so thoroughly, that it was easy to either hate or love them (depending on which character you’re reading at the time). The world building was stark and real, and the plot was tight, complete and well executed. I’m a reader; I read every day. So, when I tell you that if you enjoy suspenseful and dark stories, this is a book you’ll want to read, trust me on this. Highly recommended.

dark
So I like dark reads, but had to back off as I feel too often in the stories the victims don’t get justice and that’s too much like real life. While this book is very dark, I enjoyed it as there was revenge! I still think the bad guys got off too easily, giving how long they tormented their victims. Overall I enjoyed this book, but it did feel rushed in some parts; such as the intimacy so soon after everything. Also her trauma seemed to be downplayed as far as how it would have affected her psyche once rescued. It’s odd they never addressed any form of birth control though, yet never pregnant. I love a good vigilante story!

Dark and Twisty with a side of revenge
3.5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️This book is dark, so please check trigger warnings! This is a book about revenge and I was absolutely here for it. The things that “Dolly”had to endure was absolutely disgusting. It was a bit predictable, but there were definitely some parts that I didn’t see coming.I think the thing that bothered me the most was the relationship between “Dolly” and “Kendoll.” I understand trauma bonding, but it in this case, it just seemed off for me. Two people who have been through so much and yet can jump right into having s** with each other, just doesn’t sit right. Maybe it’s because I just couldn’t get into “Kendoll’s” character..still can’t put my finger on it exactly. All in all, if you’re looking for a dark psychological thriller with some dark romance and don’t mind plot holes, then I’d recommend it.

So good.
This is the first book by this author, and it will not be the last. I went into dolly blind and oh my gosh, it did not disappoint! It is probably one of my new favorite dark romances. Make sure you check the triggers before you read cause it is really dark. Has some things you may not be ok with. I flew through this book in just a couple of hours. I couldn’t put it down! I loved the authors writing style and worldbuilding. I definitely recommend that you love dark read it. Has the spice with a suspenseful revenge plot.

Jaw Dropped
This book is not for the weak of heart or stomach. My heart ached for Abigail and Brian and the horrors they had to go through. The depravity and realization that this actually happens in real life made it that much harder to stomach. This book was a really rough read. Please be mindful of your triggers it is very graphic and upfront with it.That being said I feel like the initial revenge against the boss man and bearded man was to light, they deserved so much worse. Then to find out what she endured growing up and that her father sold her into it. My blood was boiling. Then when justice started getting delivered, I felt as if, Abigail was finally getting to reclaim a little bit of herself. I felt that it helped give her a added sense of security and safety because they couldn't hurt her anymore.I loved that they were able to get away and continue purging .

Dark Romance?
To me this was just, sad event that can happen in life, because we live in a horrific world. I saw no romance, I saw pain, desperation for healing, and loss. I am not saying this was a bad book or a good book. It was just a book that told a story, that could have happened anywhere. Sad, that’s all I felt, reading this book. If you want a dark romance that actually has romance, but is sad as well, read The Life of Anna.

Started with the book ended with the audio
The description was for a Dark book, and with the title I knew it would have disturbing story line but as the no limits reader I am, i jumped in.I was not enraptured as I hoped, to me even the scene where they take back control was anticlimactic, as I waited for more action I was disappointed by unnecessary scenes that to my opinion were a bit too early since the main character Dolly was supposed to be recovering, Over all they where under developed, these characters seemed one dimensional. my reasons for not liking had nothing to do with the attempt at darkened situations but for the lack of intrigue and thrill, as it was labelled as a thriller to my personal opinion I also found it in a lack of any psychological games it was just two characters surviving a situation and discovering the lies and ties of those around them had.

Very Dark, Very Twisted
If you do not like Law & Order: SUV... do not read this book. If you do not like Criminal Minds ... do not read this book. If you can't handle graphic details involving SUV type situations... DO NOT READ THIS BOOK. This is one of the darkest i have read, tho i'm sure there are darker than this. I highly recommend, if you like dark and twisted stories. Mind her not sure listy blub in the front of her book.... It's a warning, not a list lol I will end here, because i will not spoil this book for anyone. It's hard to really go into detail without ruining the book. but it will have you hooked start to finish!
