Silver option is beautiful
I chose the silver option of these placemats and they are really beautiful. The advert states in big bold writing that they are leather, but thankfully I read the smaller print where it said that they are made with PU leather. Knowing that was one of the reasons I wanted to try them, my husband is a vegetarian and wouldn't have been happy having real leather placemats. These are a really generous size which I love because I want to use them as kitchen worktop protectors, putting them under the toaster, kettle etc. They could also line a tray too so that you not only keep the tray clean, but your plate won't slip around as it would without the placemat. Then of course you could them the way they were intended, on a table. However you use them, they are a nice quality, they are just the right thickness and I like that they are non slip.It says that when one side is worn out that you can just flip them over and use the other side, but as that is plain, a slightly duller colour, and looks like what it is, the reverse of a placemat, I won't be using the other side when the time comes. On the whole I am happy with these placemats and think they are worth the cost.

Golden Brown, texture like......er, faux leather
These are relatively low-priced place mats so no need to set your expectation level too high. They are about as ordinary as could be, but in fairness they're easy to wash and easy to keep clean such that frequent washing shouldn't be necessary. On our besoke French cherry-wood dining table the aesthetic match is as good as expected. They're just plain and simple, I don't think any guests will be fooled into thinking they're made of real leather but overall the response from everyone in the family has been positive. In terms of size and dimensions, yes they're slightly larger than competing products but only a little bit. The extra is welcome though.Although they look as if they could handle a very hot saucepan straight off the stove, the manufacturer advises against this so I guess if such a thing was done, it would leave a permanent burn mark. Must be washed by hand, but that's really easy anyway. The faux leather is quite thin and flexible. The price is bound to fluctuate just like most things do, I think this set of 4 would be good value for a tenner, at the time of writing they were a fair bit more than that because it'd a new-ish product launched only three months earlier (Dec 2020).

Soft and lovely-Easy to clean
This review is for the Simpletome Set of 4 Non-slip Wipeable Easy to Clean Placemats. These placemats are of perfect size( roughly 17.72 x 11.8 inches) and right thickness( approx 1.9 mm ) for my liking, large enough to place the dish and glass. The leather-like material is soft, feels lovely to touch and super easy to wipe clean. It has a good grip underneath, doesn't slip on my table cloths. My table cloth/cover have golden edging, and these placemats also have a golden border, so it's a perfect match and looks lovely.I hope this review is helpful for you to make a purchasing decision.

Simpletome PlaceMats Large but are They Leather?
They are big enough for your plate even a large sized one. Along with cutlery, space for your drink and more.To my mind if your eating with your toddler at the table a good idea. Means less messy table and also means that you can put their mat out and not worry about your table wearing the food.Mine are in grey with a gold line running around the edges which to me actually makes them look cheaper than they are. Expensive that’s what I’d call them and most likely too big for others you have to have a big table using these. Can see them being a good summer placemat setting but if cheaper. That’s the other thing fitting them into a drawer, they take it up. Not heavy and if you put a large heavy filled dish on one it can leave an imprint even if not a hot dish. Will they curl up? I can see that happening as not that thick or backed to not let it happen.Says they are leather but don’t smell like feel more like the old fashioned vinyl type ones that used to be around years ago.

Not impressed, unfortunately.
Not overly impressed with these placemats. They're not bad but they don't feel like the best quality for the price. I feel like it is something I could find at a poundshop for like £5.They quite large which is nice and they're really, really easy to clean. They're also very flexible but the feel of the material and the overall look is not great at all. These are NOT real leather. Not a surprise due to the price but the title seems to ignore the fact that these are faux leather. They feel exactly like you would expect faux leather to feel like but they don't look too good. They have this slightly tacky look to them; I think it might be the gold outline around each placemat. I think that, without the gold trim, they would look much better.Overall, not a bad product in on itself, just not my cup of tea.

Easy to clean faux leather placemats.
I received this item from the Amazon Vine Program. These placemats came is a set of 4. It came in a resealable see through plastic - nothing really fancy. It has gold boarders on all 4 sides. The placemats are rather more towards the practical side than the decorative/ sophisticated side. They look ordinary but it is very easy to clean! Unlike the woven placemats I have these faux leather placemats can just be cleaned with a clean damp cloth. It costs £17.98 at the time of review which for me is not really competitive.Overall they do the job & the biggest selling point is that it’s so easy to clean! The grey colour for me is ok but I’m not a fan of the gold borders. I would have preferred it to be plain.
