Good, strong licorice
Very strong and authentic licorice taste. Just what I wanted. I love licorice.

Mint love
I love them! I love the ingredients, how there's nothing that there shouldn't be... And how nice they are.

Not so good, gritty, and tastes bad.
Great art on the can is the only good thing to be said about this product. In my opinion, the mints were gritty, causing me to imagine what cheaply flavored sawdust might taste like.

I'm not sure what the criticism is about - these are great!
I read reviews in which people complained about the taste of these. One compared their taste to dirt; another called them disgusting. Respectfully, I don't know what they expected, but after being prepared to be disappointed, I thought they were pretty decent! If you expect them to taste like Werthers originals or a similar hard candy they definitely won't but I would compare the cinnamon to Altoids cinnamon flavor but not as sweet. I also tried Licorice and Clove - both were pleasant, tasted like the promised flavor (I actually liked the licorice more than I expected), and lasted 10-15 minutes before melting.I will say they are sweeter than I expected due to the molasses, so they might not be great for folks with diabetes, but as an occasional after-dinner treat or distraction during the day to keep from mindless eating, these are pretty good.

Trying to be objective :)
First I DO like Molasses; used as the sweetener in these mints and has a distinctive flavor... my favorite, Licorice ~light and easy; Clove is distinctive and a perfect molasses combination; Ginger is a little strong but those who like ginger shouldn't mind; Cinnamon reminds me of Red Hots (when I was a kid) and not my favorite, disappointingly (I love cinnamon); Peppermint is probably the oddest combination with the molasses however it still works; and Coffee I can not speak about as I do not like coffee at all, though my Husband said they are "too sweet".

Nice faint taste!
I especially like that the pastillies have organic ingredients, however, these 3 tins were super expensive for no more than what I received for $18. As for breath freshness, I didn't feel or think these were a good breath freshner. The pastilles have a nice cardamom taste with faint sweetness. Tin opens and closes well. Would I purchase again, probably not.

The very best mint ever...love them
I absolutely love St. Claires mints and I have tried most of them. The licorice is by far my favorite and the clove is second. I use these mints every day, and have not found another brand as good with natural ingredients and they are organic. The spearmint and wintermint are great and taste just like their name. The tarts are tart and the watermelon is wonderful and the peach is a little sweeter. I tried one tin of the Tummy Soothers and they were a wonderful blend predominately of anise-fennel with a little mint flavor and I loved them and ordered the refill. They must have changed the recipe because the refill was very, very strong peppermint eucalyptus flavor which would be good for those who like peppermint. I hope they go back to the original recipe of the Tummy Soothers though.

Syzygy
Ok. I had severe!!!! Inflammation in my side, and I went to the emergency room and they gave me muscle relaxants. But I didn't want to be on meds forever, obviously, so I did research on inflammation. One guy said clove was nature's ibuprofen!!!! So I tried it. It appears too have worked, I never went back. Furthermore, I started taking it for morning blues, I wish I was a doctor and make everybody use it.Also the Latin term for clove is syzygium aromaticum, and syzygium is a word for the relationship between the sun and the moon.
