3M Precision Masking tape, 06525, 1/4" x 60 yds, Crisp, Sharp Lines for Automotive Paint Masking, 1 Roll

Painted the hood on my mustang and put a stripe on it and the tape was great.

I do a lot of two tone cars from the 50's. Trying to prevent "paint bleed" around door seams, door handles, etc. can be frustrating, because the "yellow and green" tapes are thicker than this tape. Therefor, when you burnish the seams, there is always a chance that paint would "creep" into the seam, basically ruining your model and paint job. I have found that this tape is as sticky and flexible as well as it burnishes well.So far, this tape has not let me down. Nothing better than pulling tape to see a tight and crisp line where you want it. I like and will order more.

I only use 3M Precision tape, all sizes. It stretches slightly to accommodate non-straight lines, especially the 1/4 inch. Thin, strong and sticky Superior stuff, from 3M of course.

The product is thin and easy to work with. It comes off easily even after a few days of having it on. It works really well for masking in single layers but I needed to create a dashed boarder on a piece of furniture for sprayed acrylic water based enamel and so I crossed a layer of tape perpendicular to the first layer and paint leaked underneath at the point where the two tape layers crossed each other. In some spots it didn't leak, so perhaps with a more thorough job of burnishing it would seal better, but I wouldn't count on it for an application that was very important and had to come out right without the need to remove excess paint that has leaked.

It was perfect before I have used other tapes from different brands and they are not as effective, I had heard very good things about this tape so I decided to try it and it was perfect, it was easy to use and the paint did not run at all, 5 stars buy with confidence It is an item worth using.

This is truly a premium product. The tape forms to contours well. It has a sharp edge that is just a few mm thick and is somewhat transparent making it easy to apply over contrasting colors. There is virtually no paint creep. The end result was a clean crisp intersection of paints. In terms of application I laid it down and then added 3/4 inch , cheaper but good 3M auto body tape over the top 1/8 inch to get a good paper covering inter face. It was a delight to use and the results exceeded my expectations.

The media could not be loaded. This tape did a great job, minimal to no bleed on these projects! The white guitar I did a thin white coat first to make sure not bleed and that worked. On the red guitar, we ran out of silver so we were not able to do a silver coat before the red and still no bleed! Very pleased with this tape!!

I’ve enjoyed it. Not as strong as std masking tape. Almost see-through.
