Ferret friendly, and though huge Travel friendly
Works wonderful for ferrets too. I bought one for my little Mochi. He maybe an only child but trust me he's spoiled. His cage is right next to my favorite comfy chair. Its proper up with old coffee table and he got doggie stairs to leave his cage or go back on it. Now why I got this . Instead of the multi layer . I bought it so when he he gets old less stairs. The cage is sturdy, easy clean and keeps my fur baby locked and safe when I'm not home. He's a good boy and loves his cage. ( Helpful advice for people with animals with cages near them get one of those mini hepa air purifiers works great, so you and your fur baby can hang with out breathing issues) This cage is huge yes still got it in my crv for visiting family. Sturdy, and surprisingly strong build. Easy to put together ( your fur baby will love watching you make it) . If your fur baby hates the red bowel or water bottle. Just get lock on bowels the cage still works just pick a spot with a pole for stability. The cage doubles as a shelf to hold their food , and toys on top. Wouldn't go over 20lbs though. Keep under 15lbs.

Love it!!!
OVERALL: I love this cage! I've owned guinea pigs for years and have had several different types, including Midwest, but this is my favorite. SIZE: It's a great size for my 2 females (note that females aren't always as territorial as males). There is plenty of space for a pigloo/hidey and for zoomies! ACCESSIBILITY: The huge door is perfect for cleaning the cage so I don't have to squeeze my arm in or take the cage apart completely. It's a bit of a hassle at first because you have to line it up with the edge of the plastic tray/bottom before you lock it, but you'll get used to it and it's still worth having. Plus who wants to squeeze their poor piggie through a small door/opening when they take the piggie out? (The answer is NO ONE!) ADD-ON PIECES: It came with a ramp and a ledge/second level but guinea pigs are not climbers. However, they are hiders and they love to hide under it! It's like a built in hidey space. I put a chenille type rug underneath it for cuddly comfort. ASSEMBLY: I am *horrible* at putting things together but I did 99% of the assembly myself! Took me a bit to figure it out and line everything up, but I did it and it's nice and sturdy.

Great for 2 female Guinea Pigs
I bought this cage (the XL size) for 2 female Guinea Pigs. I really like it! Pretty much the same size as the Midwest guinea pig cage that everyone recommends but a nice solid bottom (easy to clean and won't get nasty like a canvas bottom) and sturdier construction (which I wanted since I have cats). I prefer aspen shavings to fleece and the high sides keep the bedding and hay nicely contained. I have the platform set up in the middle of the cage instead of to one end so my girls can hide under it but can also race around the whole peremiter of the cage like a race track (which they love to do). I've no issues with the water bottle leaking. I had even bought a pricier one before getting this cage after reading reviews and that's the one that leaks! Since the front of the cage fully opens I have a pet playpen with fleece on the floor attached to the front and just open it up to give them more floor space to play when I'm home watching them. Just give them a little ramp to get in and out. Putting the cage together was fairly easy. Just don't be scared to use some force to get things to snap into place. Cons: while this cage is big enough for 2 female Guinea Pigs it would not be enough room for 2 males without the addition. However - they do sell an addition or you could make one. My cage did come with a small crack where the grey section hooks into the burgundy. I suspect this happened from the way the delivery guy tossed it on my porch. Thankfully it was just cosmetic and in no way impacts the use of the cage. The box it is delivered in could have been sturdier.

great purchase
This cage was perfect for what we wanted, including the size, neutral colors, doors, bar spacing, price and accessories. (Its large!) Our water bottle worked perfectly and was easy to install and it and it's attachment are silent mechanism. The hay dispenser looks flimsy but is actually quite sturdy once attached. Assembly is easy and fast. BUT- the first part of building this enclosure is attaching the grey side panels to the burgundy base. I did need to use the hammer. (Alot of pushing to try and align with base) At 1st it seemed there was no way the grey previously attached panels would attach to the base without altering or removing some chunk of plastic off, but I decided to actually force it, and it does need to click . (Only 2 or 3 of the 4 side panels would attach at once , but without clicking and looking misaligned). Attach all 4 grey pieces and then do use force if needed, get them into the base (I hammered once per corner). If you follow instructions in this review, building should be under 10-15 mins. (Included instructions are pretty vague). Took longer than I'd hoped, before I decided to risk and force it. Once built, Smores (young abyssinian guinea piggie) absolutes loves his new Wabitat! He has run quite a few laps and has been making himself at home. The included locking clips don't attach with a strong hold, which in our case doesn't matter. The front door is fantastic and is effortless to open. (Our piggie has regular cuddle sessions). The guage of the metal has some give, in case you're heavy handed, but not too bad (strong enough). Hutch and bowl are okay, but we set them aside for now. (Hutch can hide multiple animals if they're small!) We prefer a hide or two and more play-space (no hutch). I do not recommend to anyone placement of items on top of this habitat when closed. If your pet can escape from the top, secure the top door with bag ties or wire grips. This item did take a while to ship, but arrived promptly. It was shipped safely in my opinion but I did immediately check for cracks in the base. I rated 4 stars and will update to 5 if I have no complaints later in time and the product proves to last.

Very HAPPY
Our Lyon Head rabbit loves her home. After 2 1/2 months we are very glad we got this for her. The size is perfect, enough room to run around. She spends most of the time on her shelf. Good size. She takes the feeder off so put her goodies on the built in bowl, spinach and carrots. Works good. She uses her hideout when she feels uncomfortable. Doesn't spend much time in there though. Very nice for her to have a secure place to go. The hay feeder is working good now that we found a small grate to put in so she couldn't pull all of the hay in all at once. Being able to open 1/2 of the cage to clean it is really really nice. Very convenient. She is comfortable in the cage and doesn't try to get out when it is open. The way the doors are engineered they are very easy to use. Easy to stay open and easy to lock closed. Also with the large opening it is easy to get her out for brushing and loving time. We would give this 10 stars. The sides are high enough to keep the litter in. Because she is on the shelf most of the time we are able to see her, so the sides being high is not a problem. The cage is very sturdy and well designed. Very little chewing on the plastic. It was very easy to put together. Instructions were good, understandable.

NOT SUITABLE FOR GUINEA PIGS OR RABBITS
To anyone buying this for a guinea pig- don’t! I made the mistake thinking it was big enough when really it isn’t, the actual livable floor space is too small ESPECIALLY if you’re housing male Guinea pigs (they need more space overall) the only store cage that is technically the MINIMUM size is the MidWest canvas cage, still not recommended for housing anything other than two females. The absolute best (and cheapest and easiest) option is a homemade c&c cage. As far as the actual cage though it’s very good and sturdy, the bottom is easy to clean (although it’s not completely flat it’s ridged so it takes some scrubbing to get everything off) it was a little difficult to assemble, a little hard to snap everything into place and if you don’t the pieces won’t fit! So keep that in mind. I like the top bar part, a whole side swings open and there’s latch on top which makes cleaning and interacting super easy, it is a bit flimsy on top though so I wouldn’t put too much weight, the middle of ours dips down now because I put a light box with some extra supplies on top (things like extra cuddle cups and treats and fleeces should be okay though just put it towards the ends so it’s more supported) it’s a top quality cage just not appropriate for guinea pigs, it’s the correct size for a hedgehog but might be hard to keep at an appropriate temperature so keep that in mind. Overall a good product!

Extremely satisfied with this cage!
I figured I owe it to any future small pet owners out there to write a review on this cage. I recently decided to get a rabbit and was frustrated looking at so many different cages that mostly had bad reviews. All I can say is this cage is absolutely worth it! It was literally the cheapest cage I looked at, and I don't think any other cage under $200 beats this one. Assembly was very easy. Snapping together the plastic base was slightly annoying, but after that it was a piece of cake. The cage is huge which I love. I hate thinking of animals stuck in a small cage. The cage has three separate sections that open up for easy access... one on top and two next to each other in the front. I usually keep one section open when I'm home and I've noticed the rabbit spends more time in the cage than outside of it! Cleaning is very simple. I just open the front sections and remove any bedding that's dirty a few times a week. I would recommend this cage to anyone getting a rabbit or other small pet. All I needed after buying the cage was bedding, a small bed (though my rabbit doesn't use it yet), a litter box and litter (doesn't use that either!), rabbit food and hay, a salt block and a few toys. The cage comes with a food bowl and water dispenser (though my rabbit prefers a bowl of water). Best value cage there is!

DOES WHAT IT NEEDS TO
I purchased this cage because my two male piggies needed a bit more room from their Living World Deluxe XL cage. I read through all the reviews of several cages and this one seemed to fit the bill as it can be expanded with an add-on piece if/when needed. So many piggie owners recommend the Midwest cage, however, I dislike them because of the soft bottom and no top (I do know you can add on a top if that's your preference). I prefer a cage that has a sturdy, hard plastic bottom. Easier for cleaning. There were instructions included for the assembly, which was rather straight-forward. If I had another set of hands, that would've been so much better. I managed to do it all by myself. Assembly wasn't that difficult as some reviewers indicated that it was. There was a slight crack along a very small portion of the bottom edge of the, but when you put the overlaying piece on, you cannot tell that there was a crack. The crack was so insignificant that it does not in any way hamper the usage of the cage. Definitely not worth sending it back and waiting for a replacement. The cage itself is kind of okay, meaning that it can appear and feel flimsy. Having said that, it does the job I needed it to do. Advantages : * I like the double front lift-up panels. These allow easy access to swap out hideys, refill hay, and have easier access to my piggies when I need to take them out of the cage for cuddle time, cage cleaning, etc. *A smaller door on the top of the cage for quick access without lifting up the front panels *A good size cage comparable to the Midwest in size with the potential for expansion *While the bottom is scored, the scores are shallow enough that it's very easy to clean, meaning that wipes slide over the bottom with very little to no effort (my other cage, the scores at the bottom are deeper and sometimes prove more difficult to deep clean) Disadvantages: *Could have been made sturdier, but this does the job that I need it to do, because let's face it, piggies aren't necessarily muscle-bound brutes that would knock out the walls of their cage (at least mine aren't!) *When cleaning the cage, I take off the entire top for easier access and because of the way the front lift-up flaps are, they are not secured to the rest of the cage *Would recommend some simple clips to hold the lifting flaps to the rest of the cage and in the middle for more sturdiness when taking the entire top off I will most likely have this cage for a long time as it allows my two boys the room that they need to run away from each other when necessary. I'm still configuring the piggie room/second bedroom and when I'm done I will see if I have enough room for the extension and then order it. Overall, I do like this cage as it does exactly what I needed it to do. I would recommend if you can overlook some of the disadvantages. For the money, I am satisfied with my purchase. And by vacating the Living World Deluxe XL cage, my third and solitary piggie has a MUCH bigger home than he had before and is so much happier than he was in a smaller cage. So in conclusion, this is a win-win for all three of my boys. :-)
