Q: Are these hollow? Also, I'm looking for narrow straws to use to build paper beads on. Does anyone know how big the hole is? Thanks!

The hole is almost 1/8 inch wide, with the black plastic straw, the entire width is 1/8 inch.

You can but they turn into a wet noodle when they are hot. Look at all the complaints about this product.

Q: what is the diameter of the straw? is it 4mm outer edge to outer edge?

The outer edge is 3 mm. You can sip through it easily. They are short, especially when you have tall mugs. I ordered 7 1/4 " black sip straws #1525BK7. They come in a box of 1000.

Q: What are these made from? are they bpa free?

plastic, I don't know if they are BPA free.
