Ceramic stand increases longevity of whisk.
Drying on the ceramic stand helps the whisk maintain its shape. I will not buy another whisk without one.

The whisk is not great quality
The whisk breaks easily abs does not hold its shape. The Curia are supposed to straiten after the 1st use or so thatās normal but the bristles break easily. Itās an ok starter set to see if you enjoy good matcha and the process of making it. If you find that you enjoy the process get a nicer higher quality whisk. The holder of fine no need to replace that or the spoon/dipper. Hope this is helpful. I donātConsider it a waist of money. I found I really enjoy the ritual of making my morning matcha. Upgrading to a better whisk is easily done.

Nice inexpensive set to use with ceremonial grade Matcha, and practice the "Tea Ceremony".
I've seen the "Tea Ceremony" done in movies and anime as a form of service or respect to valued guests or friends. It's cool to have the actual tools used for the ceremony. I have a very nice iron hot water pot, a good stoneware mixing bowl about the right size, and now the whisk and the implement to transfer the tea. I'm not sure why the steps are done the way they are from the leaning of the teas tick, to the proper whisking of the Matcha in the bowl to the offering of the drink.I understand that the ceremony dates to 9th century China and a Buddhist monk who prepared tea in this manner for the Emperor. It is supposed to represent things like purity, and tranquility. It was often used in religions ceremonies as well. There is a rich history and it dates from when tea from China was imported to Japan and became popular. It's worth reading about, and nice to have to tools to do it as authentically as possible here. I don't care for most green teas, but Matcha is an exception, as it is so refined that the typical bitterness is absent from it. I guess it would be wrong to do a tea ceremony where the tea is slightly bitter. Recommended, but for those who like different cultures particularly the Japanese culture.

If you like traditional Matcha, this is a must have.
I received this via the Amazon Vine program but I would have purchased this at the $18.99 price (at the time of this review) in a snap. Complete with a chasen (bamboo whisk), chashaku (bamboo scoop) and a nifty whisk holder, These elements are all well-made and appear to be sturdy enough to hold up to many, many servings of delicious matcha. The traditional tea of the emperors can be yours in minutes with this attractive and practical set.You can use it for matcha or for just about any other powdered drink. At an affordable price and next day shipping this set is very highly recommended.
