OXO Good Grips Cookie Press Springtime Disk Set

The media could not be loaded.  UPDATE, September 17 - The new special set of Autumn discs arrived outside my door this morning. I especially like the pumpkin, but the leaf, spider, turkey, owl and spider web are also attractive and will be great for Halloween. This new set of discs is as well made as the rest and do fit in the storage box. I can't wait to dig out all of my fall sprinkles and glitters. I really wish that OXO would make extra empty storage boxes available though so I don't have to double stack everything.****I adore my  OXO Good Grips Cookie Press with Disk Storage Case  and turn out a batch of my favorite Cream Cheese Spritz at least once a week, so I was over the moon to find this  OXO Good Grips Cookie Press Springtime Disk Set . New seasonal designs are always welcome!You'll find Cherry Blossom, Rose, Love, Double Heart, Shamrock, and Bouquet designs, each nicely stamped from heavy metal for years of use. I did notice that the stem on the Bouquet design comes a bit far down the template, just touching the edge of the ring that holds the disc in place and suspect that might interfere a bit with pressing out that particular design. (I'll let you know as soon as I make a new batch.) Meanwhile, here is my tried and true Cream Cheese Spritz Recipe -Cream Cheese Spritz1 cup butter (2 sticks)3 ounces cream cheese1 cup sugar1 egg yolk1 teaspoon vanilla1/2 - 1 teaspoon other flavoring (orange, lemon, almond are all good), optional1/4 teaspoon salt2 1/2 cups flourDirections: Beat room temperature butter and cream cheese together until softened and well blended. Beat in sugar, then beat in the egg yolk, salt and flavorings. Stir in the flour until well combined and dough holds together. Use immediately. Bake at 350F about 8-12 minutes until the bottom edge is just barely golden. Makes about 8 dozen.NOTES: You can substitute baking margarine for the butter &/or lowfat cream cheese for the regular. I saw this cookie press in a magazine - I absolutely love this cookie press! It is SO very easy to use when you need to make LOTS of cookies at one time especially using the recipe that comes with the press. Another brand name makes a similar product but after reading reviews and my previous experience with OXO products, I decided to buy this one. The 12 disks that come with the cookie press are great and easy to clean, sturdy stainless steel. I also purchased the 6 disk Springtime Disk Set to make cookies for an upcoming party, I'll be tinting the dough in pastel colors. Cleaning this press is also easy on the top rack of the dishwasher. I have always enjoyed using OXO products and this cookie press is no exception!

I really wanted a "clover" disk to make cookies for St. Patrick's Day... and this set of OXO Springtime disks were not only perfect, but they're stainless steel and will last a lifetime. I own a "Wilton Cookie Pro Ultra II" and I couldn't find holiday disks, other than the ones that actually came with my cookie press. These were a perfect fit and made the cutest clover... didn't have any problem using them in my press!! I intend to go buy Oxo's other sets :).

I purchased these thinking that they would fit in my KitchenAid cookie press and when they didn't I managed to make it work with a sliver of metal to make them larger. They are thinner than those that came with my KitchenAid which is my reasoning for 4 stars, but work well and the shapes are so cute. Were perfect for a bridal shower!

I managed to land the  OXO Good Grips Cookie Press with Disk Storage Case  as a Vine item, and fell madly in love with it. I have an older Swedish metal cookie press that is built like a tank, but the trigger mechanism was hard on my arthritis. The OXO press, on the other hand, is as simple as loading the press with dough (the included booklet contains three base recipes for cream cheese, butter, and and chocolate shortbread spritz dough with several variations) and pressing down on the handle. I'd tried about six of the twelve included disks, but wanted something for spring (St. Pat's, Valentine's, etc.)Enter the Springtime Disk Set, with gives you an additional six disks for your OXO cookie press: a cherry blossom, rose, LOVE stamp, two hearts, a shamrock, and a bouquet of flowers.For St. Pat's, I made a double batch of green-tinted shamrocks with green sprinkles.I'd specifically purchased this set for the cherry blossom stamp; as I have many Japan Air Self-Defense Force wingmen that I work with, I wanted to make up sakura (cherry blossom) cookie bags during hanami (cherry blossom viewing season). I ended up making a split batch of colored-and-sprinkled cherry blossoms and roses and packaging them in cellophane bags, and they were a hit! (see photo above) I used the OXO standard butter dough recipe that came with my press, although I've also tried the chocolate shortbread and lemon poppyseed variations, and they were also good (you can also find the recipes on the OXO website; see comments for the link).One addition that would have been nice would have been an additional plastic storage case for the disks; the original storage case that came with  OXO Good Grips Cookie Press with Disk Storage Case  has slots for exactly 12 disks to keep them upright, and then I had to throw in the additional six disks from the Springtime set with no way to keep them from banging into the disks next to them.

I really love this set! The cookie press itself is already very good, with this disk set, it is amazing! This set is very suitable for valetine's day or lovers. I seriously love the rose, sakura and the double-heart shape! I never see these shapes from other cookie presses of different brands. They just made baking more fun and interesting. I'm considering to buy another disk set too, maybe near Halloween! Highly recommended!

These disks are well made and the cookies are so cute. I love the set and it arrived well packaged and on time.

Disques pour presse à biscuits, que j'ai commandés pour compléter la collection livrée avec la presse de marque Kuhn Rikon 22460 commandée sur Amazon. Bien que de marque différente, ils vont parfaitement bien. En inox très épais. Très satisfaite.

Die Scheiben wirken sehr hochwertig und bei mir sahen die Plätzchen aus wie auf den Bildern. Wichtig ist das richtige Rezept und man braucht beschichtete Bleche, die man am besten vorher kaltstellt.

Love this. Best cookie press ever, and I've had a bunch over the years. It's a present to myself every Christmas.
