Base and Foot Pads
I embraced my anal-retentiveness and installed the Foot Pads to my liking: First, using a clean, 91% isopropyl alcohol-moistened cloth, I wiped down the base corners where the Pads would be stuck on to, that to ensure good adhesion of the Pads. Second, I applied scotch-tape (carefully aligned along the Base edges) to the now dry corners to act as guides for placement of the Pads; that pretty much got the Pads "square-with-the-World -- and each other -- so to speak. Third, I firmly pressed the Pads into place then removed the tapes. Done. Note that the Base has a shiny side and a dull side. It's obvious that the Pads should go on the dull side (the shiny side being attractive and meant to be seen), but I was sorely tempted to go the other way; the shiny (seemingly smoother) side could have provided better 'grab' for the Pads. Also, depending on how low the TV will be to the base and where viewers' eye levels and distances would be, viewers would see the base's reflection of whatever's showing on the TV. We don't want that distraction now, do we. On that point, I made sure my TV height and viewers' seated locations wouldn't have that problem. Shiny side up then, for me any way. Good Luck with your build!

Good solid base, tiltable to the side and easy to assemble
There was nothing to dislike about this item. The base is very heavy as it should be to make it more solid and avoid tipping over of the TV. To be honest, if it wasn't for this base the TV would have been returned because of the very flimsy plastic "feet" that came with it even though we loved the picture on the TV. Also, this had to go on top of a piece of furniture since it was for the bedroom and there was no wall space left between closets, doors, and windows. We wouldn't have been able to view the TV screen straight on if it wasn't for this stand which swivels right and left. Assembly - I did it alone while hubby was gone. I just spread out all the parts, read the directions (a very novel idea for my husband), do it step by step and it's done. They send screws for every kind of TV mentioned in the item description so you'll surely find the ones that fit your television IF you read the item description and be sure your brand and size is listed. FANTASTIC item at a very reasonable price.

This is a must-have for your new TV!
This is a fantastic stand! Who knew that expensive TVs now come with such cheap plastic legs? (I guess most people are mounting TVs on walls these days.) For those of you who don’t want to drill holes in your walls or hire the Geek Squad, this stand is an absolute must — and a bargain. I am not the most mechanically-inclined person, but I managed to assemble it and mount a 43” LG in under an hour by myself. (I think a larger TV would definitely need two people to handle.) The directions were reasonably easy to understand, and most importantly, the kit came with a huge assortment of screws and spacers, all neatly separated by size into separate sealed compartments in a long plastic sleeve. (Don’t get the pieces mixed up when you take them out or you’ll spend an hour re-sorting them.) Amazingly, there were NO MISSING PARTS! These days, that is a huge win.My only assembly advice is to have a decent level handy. I assembled the entire stand and the TV looked straight, but the minute I stood five feet away, the slope was obvious. Using a level, it took all of two minutes to loosen a few screws, adjust the TV *ever-so-slightly* and voila — perfectly level. As for fit and finish, no complaints whatever. The stand is study, looks great and swivels effortlessly (which made plugging in all the cables much easier). I did save the included Allen wrench just in case anything needs tightening up in the future, but after a month of everyday use, I haven’t noticed any slippage.
