Does the job read my review
Product does what it says... I attached it to my handle bars not the centre post (as in product photos) you just turn plastic seating the other way but I found cable ties to be a bit tricky and fiddly. Instructions are difficult to interpret but got there in the end re trial & error. I was going to send it back as it has a fault re when the beep sound is on the buttons don’t function properly however when I turned the beep alert off the buttons were fine. I am happy with that as not bothered if buttons beep when pressed. It is very basic info but I like that it pauses the time when I stop and mph and mileage is accurate (checked via my iWatch fitness app) Not bothered at saving data as is cumbersome just need it for current readings for each ride (my fitness app does that job) I find it better than my old traditional cycle meter you just have to remember to recharge it when light flashes orange via usb. Overall I recommend it as it looks & feels good and functions well once you get used to button presses and what they do. I like the GPS accuracy and auto time zone 👍 Hopefully it will last 5yrs plus and then I will be very happy 😃

I got more than I wanted!
We all know that car speedometers are inaccurate. So I wanted a GPS speedo in the car to give me an accurate speed.I ordered this bike GPS speedo in the hope that it would suit my needs --- actually it was a birthday gift from my daughter. It arrived and I tried it whilst walking (all seemed good) and, today, I drove 130 miles whilst comparing it to the speedo on my Sat Nav.It worked brilliantly!I love the way that it charges from the car USB point and it fits really well in one of the air vents next to the dashboard. So I can't say anything but great things about it and I thank my daughter for giving me the opportunity to buy this extremely useful tool. Now I want to look for a GPS compass to augment my Sat Nav.Many many thanks and a 20 out of 10 from me

Decent product.
Dead easy to set up and to fit on the handlebars, neat looking device. Speed and distance are accurate, however the altitude is way off. I live near the coast and regularly cycle along the beach; the altitude never shows less than 150 feet. I have messaged Meilan but their responses have been hopeless. Only 3 stars due to this.

Finally a bike odometer that doesn’t require measuring wheels!
I used to be an avid cyclist so always has some sort of bike computer as part of my daily routine. Over the years they have clearly evolved into something on a whole other level. This one now doesn’t need to put some sort of magnet on the wheel to determine how fast I’m going - it does it via my GPS location. It also works out altitude etc from said GPS location as well as distance travelled etc.So, now instead of using those flat silver batteries, like everything on the market today, this is rechargeable using a USB cable.I had to read the instructions to set it up but with a little patience and following the pamphlet, I was able to set everything. The date etc was already correct, I just had to adjust the time zone to +1 since we are now in DST in the UK (otherwise it’s 0).So to be clear, you don’t set the clock itself - you just tell it what time zone you are in and it does it automatically for you.My only niggle is that when you finish your ride and it asks you to save, the options are reversed of the buttons - so YES is on the right and NO is on the left.I had a little trouble getting a GPS signal near to the house but once I was outside on the road it was able to pick up my signal abs start tracking.I’ve not had chance to test this out on a long ride as the weather has been rubbish, but at least now I’m all set up that when it’s a nice day I can pop this on the bike and get some exercise. For anyone who likes cycling and is interested in distance travelled, speeds and averages this is a must have bit of kit. I used to keep track and try to always better my previous times when cycling so the competitive side of me loves this.It seems very secure on the bike - infact it’s a slight struggle to get it off the charge it as it’s that well fixed into position so I’m confident it won’t fall off any time soon.

Lasted Just A Month
Initially I was very pleased with this device. Did all I wanted and more for my mobility scooter. However, not is use every day, it’s lasted just over a month! Started off losing GPS in places I’ve previously been to regularly. Then the buttons ceased to work and the screen locked. Just gone past the return deadline!UPDATE 27.06.24Messaged the seller. Not even the curtesy of a reply! Draw your own conclusions!

Simple, great little basic GPS speedo for cycling.
This is my second Meilan M3 bought for my son's MTB. With fork legs further from the wheels on a MTB I found the regular wireless speedo's wouldn't work. The M3 does the job fine,it has basic functions, time, distance, mph or kph, average speed, top speed, odometer - all about half the price of other units I looked at. I've used mine in medium rain, all fine, I charge it at the end of the week after around 5 hours use, (it shows amber on the battery indicator then). The GPS signal occasionally drops out but this happens with my phone and sat nav so I'm not too worried, I think it's a location thing. If you are in the woods miles from anywhere and little phone, (GPS), signal you may struggle, but I guess any GPS unit would face the same issue. So for me it's a relatively cheap, straight forward simple GPS speedo which is what I wanted.

Handy to have, seems fairly accurate
So far this has been a great little tool for my bike rides. I ran it alongside the Runkeeper app that I always use and I have discovered that Runkeeper seems to lag behind with my speed while this bike computer gave my speed in real time. I found this out when testing it in my car, which should have the most accurate speedometer that I would have access to for comparison since it won’t be using a GPS to calculate speed. When I would slow down, the bike computer also would slow in real time, whereas the Runkeeper app would lag by half a minute or more. When I came to a complete stop and my car speedometer said zero, the bike computer also said zero but Runkeeper was saying I was still going 20 mph and didn’t reflect that I had came to a stop for quite awhile after, which by then I was already moving again. I got this bike computer because I wanted to be able to look and see my speed at any given time. I don’t have room for a cellphone mount on my bike so I have my phone in bike bag and set up Runkeeper to tell me my speed every so often, but there would be many times I’d be hitting a great speed and had no idea how fast I was going because it wasn’t time for Runkeeper to announce it. So this little bike computer has been great for me to look at my speed at any time and it is in real time and seems to be fairly accurate. When tracking distance, it will be about a tenth of a mile less that whatever Runkeeper says. I don’t know if it’s something to do with the bike computer being on my handlebar and the Runkeeper app being in the bag under my seat, or if it’s the difference in technology, or that sometimes bike computer gps drops out for 5-10 seconds when I go through a patch of trees on the bike trail. For the most part it stays connected while on my bike trail, which is in the middle of the country and goes through corn fields, but sometimes it has trouble in thick trees. Overall though, it works great for what I want it to do and for the price it can’t be beat. It was easy to set up and use, although when entering my time zone it tells the time hour ahead. It makes no provision for daylight savings time, but that’s not a big deal to me since I’ve got a watch on anyway, I know what time it is. But if the time function is something important to you then you’ll probably have to enter in the time zone that is an hour behind your real time zone in order to get it to display the correct time during daylight savings time, and then you’d have to change it to your real time zone when daylight savings ended to display the correct time.
