Perfect for the kiddos
I bought these for the kids attending my viking-themed wedding. First off, they are a decently good size but being made of foam, not heavy to handle. The printing on them is vibrant and they are thick enough that the corners won't be poking eyes out. They were a huge hit with the kids.

They are not super durable, but will be fine if you are not having major slap battles with them.
My 6 and 8 years olds love these. They love the battle ax, and they love the mace, because those are not usually toys they get to play with. (It's usually swords...) They are not too expensive, and they look pretty nice. They are made of foam, but what I really liked is that they also had three layers of foam glued together. The inside layer is the thickest and probably has the most give, while the outside layers seem to provide a little more firm support. To be fair, your kids are going to wildly attack each other with these things, and if they swing hard enough and do serious bashing you stand a good chance of snapping them in half. That said, we've had ours for a couple of weeks and after a few shouts of "don't hit your sister!" or "stop throwing swords at your brother!" things have calmed down and the kids know that they still are delicate toys more for play fighting instead of actual fighting. Are they great for costumes? ABSOLUTELY. Are they great for hacking and slashing hard against other toys? Probably not. They'll stand up to some damage but will eventually break.

They break to easily
I have a 3-year-old who was playing with friends and broke two of them in 1 day. Not very sturdy and for playing too rough. It is more for decoration or costumes!

Huge hit for my warrior children
These silly weapons are how i learned my toddler knew how to say "please" with her arms held outstreched begging for the three weapons I had saved on the shelf. She loves these things. I don't even know how she knows what swords are, but they are pretty intuitive. She runs all around the house with them making a fierce face. They are light, the printed pattern is durable, and though the swords all have bent by now, they are easily unbent and made almost good as new. They aren't meant to last forever, but are really vivid, fun toys for a child to adventure with. Now, when I put my toddler in my back harness to walk through the park, she begs for her sword. It's just a nice accessory. The foam has good texture and is easy for my child to hold for a long time. I have never seen her drop one. I do recommend hiding most of the weapons and doling them out one by one. They make a nice reward or distraction. You get all five. Three swords, one of them more 'fantasy adventure', the tomahawk/axe thing, and the morning star. All of them are awesome. These are a steal compared to what similar, and inferior quality foam weapons cost at stores around me.

Save money by getting these before going to Lego Land!
Update (few days after opening)The axe broke after the first few days. Given how easily the axe broke, I’m not sure how long the rest of them well hold up to the abuse my kids put them through. Changed from 5 stars to 3 stars.—-original review——We went to Legoland pre-Covid and spent almost $25 per a sword for our three kids. I wish we had seen these or knew about these before going because it would have been way cheaper had we just ordered a set of these for them to walk around with at Legoland. These foam weapons are a huge step up from the dollar store foam swords and a tiny step down from the ones you get at LegoLand. They are made of three layers of foam giving them some structure and can still deliver a hard thwack at someone if hit just right on the edge. I like that these foam weapons have the colors/designs which are silk screened on rather than a plastic layer like the Lego Land ones where it seems to already be peeling off. Hopefully the silk screened colors will last longer. The only thing about these swords that we aren't as keen with is that they are a little smaller than the Legoland swords and proportion wise seem to fit a 3-4 year old better than my kids who range 5-9.To minimize the chance the kids will poke each other's eye's out, we have strict rules around sword play. We have a rule in the house that if the "any sword that hits anyone or anything will be taken away." This has worked well for us as well tell them to only have the swords make contact with other swords and nothing else.Review For:Foam Weapon Swords for Kids - 17 inch Foam Swords Axe and Hammer 5 Pack, Foam Ninja Sword Toy Medieval Combat Playsets, Costume Role Play Accessories, Knight Foam Swords for Boys Gifts Party Favors
