BKC TK122U 12' 6" Tandem 2 or 3 Person SIt On Top Fishing Kayak w/Upright Aluminum Frame Seats, 2 Paddles and 4 Fishing Rod Holders Included

First the good (without actually having had it on the water): Great looking boat. The hull is a slight trimaran shape with several ribs, should be stable. The interior is deeper than most sot’s (about 8”), which is the main reason I bought this one, almost like a sit in. All the features are very angular (Foot braces, gunwales, bulkheads). The gunwales are flat and wide. All fittings, (tie downs, rod holders, tracks) are recessed to prevent snags…nice. Seats are nice, a padded mesh, that should be comfortable and dry easily. The elastic paddle holders are very tight. Probably not the best to stand up in, there is not a lot of flat deck (the center where the dry boxes are is kind of a tunnel). The bad: The two week shipping estimate is probably not realistic. I was contacted two and a half weeks after it was supposed to have shipped saying the color I ordered was not available, obviously it had not shipped when indicated. I missed the chance to use it on a trip to Arizona. It arrived a couple weeks after my return in the new color (Grey Camo…Very Nice). Hatch cover latch broken in transit, I have requested a replacement that is supposed to be on the way. The customer service folks seem to be trying to please. Next I will see if it floats.

It’s not always the product but who you do business with. I am writing this review to prevent any false hope and frustrations. I Love the kayak, not the company. Took over 3 months and multiple calls to get the kayak. Then two incorrect chairs, one scratched waiting in a response. It’s a big purchase they lacks service. I am very excited about the kayak but concerned on the relationship with the company. If I was going to do it again it wouldn’t be with BKC.

First time buyer/kayaker and pleased overall... Wife caught the first redfish (jealous)... Only down side are the dry box latches (poor quality plastic). Have broken three already and was careful while attempting to lock in place. Has to be seated just perfect... Customer service (Kevin) was great though in replacing them.

We love this kayak! It’s perfect, although there are some downfalls.So the shipping is NOT accurate, at all. Expect it to take at least a week longer than expected.Also, it’s not the color we ordered. The color options aren’t accurate with the pictures on amazon but we ended up liking the color we were sent anyway.It floats and it works really well, and we are not small people.We think the paddles are shorter than they need to be but the comfortable seats make up for it. We could sit in this kayak all day and be comfortable.Buy this kayak!

I ordered this kayak so my 13 yo daughter and I could go fishing together, as well as solo trips and other leisure activities. I could not be happier! The kayak is very stable, easy to paddle, and can move along pretty well with both of us paddling. It is light enough for us to get off the car and into the water with ease (I can do it myself, but with a bit more effort). The kayak is excellent quality with lots of the extras you find on higher priced units. I LOVE this kayak, no regrets at all! Now, about BKC customer service, I had a shipping issue, which was not BKCs fault (steep driveway and nervous driver) but they were responsive, and worked to get me the kayak as quickly as possible, they were top notch through the entire process and I am as satisfied with them as I am with the kayak!

Truth is , have not found one thing i dislike about this kayak. Have been an avid canoe fan for many years and this will be my go to ride for special days alone. Much less wind drift than the canoe which is a16 ft, longer and higher set. The BKC is easier to handle in wind. I also prefer to flyfish and i stand in the canoe and can tell very little difference in the two. will build up some sort leaning bar soon, ageing problem, not the boat. My weight load is around 300 lbs all told, and does not faze it. Plan on adding a lot of light weight camping gear and doing some overnights.

This is a fantastic kayak! Lightweight, functional and fun! Installed trolling motor because I live on a tidal river in South Carolina! Comfortable because of the design and you are sitting inside a kayak.Seats are comfortable for the four or five hours we are out. The 2 dry storage areas are great for each of us!Just added the anchor wizard to it and now I think all upgrades I want are done!

Very satisfied with this purchase.
