They absorb sound and look great!
I can tell that these do absorb some sound in my studio, although I do not have all of my wall surfaces completely covered. They do help. I think they also look great (see picture). I use 3M Command strips to hang them (just one each) and that works great.

At the very least I don't have to finish the drywall now!
Turned a bedroom into my recording studio. Walls were horrible cheap paneling, so I dry walled them all. My procrastination in finishing them really paid off! These made a nice-looking and functional wall for not much more than $100. That's totally worth not having to tape, mud, texture, and paint the wall! Used my hot glue gun to stick them on the wall. Works well and my best suggestion. Spray adhesive may work well too.

Excellent Quality and Consistency over 10 packs and Did the Job as Expected
My square dance club had very economical access to a 40ft by 25ft dry-walled space with concrete floor we wanted to use for square dancing. There was nothing soft in the room to absorb sound. In square dancing a leader directs us what to do over PA system while music plays in background. The room echoed so badly before we put up the foam we could not reliably hear the directions announced. It was awful. We could not use the space for our dances. We bought 10 packs of his foam and mounted it around the room as shown in the photos and now the room is perfect - no objectionable echoes at all. Just as good as any of dozens of other venue we have danced in. So the foam did its job. As for quality, this stuff was 100% consistent and perfect. Not a single square from all 10 of our packs had any defect we noticed. I expanded them by cutting the plastic wrapper off, separating the individual squares by hand (very easy - take only 2 seconds per square) and put them into a tube of cold water. I let them sit in there about 5 minutes while poking them with my hand every half minute or so to get water around all the pieces. I did a whole pack at a time in the tub. After 5 minutes or so most were expanded fully. A few corners need to be squeezed by hand a few times to get them to suck up more water and expand fully. In the end all the pyramids came up on EVERY SINGLE square. Then I took them out one at a time and folded in half and in half and in half and wrung them out over the tub. I did not have to be particularly gentle with them - they seem tough; I didn't damage any of them doing this, they all dried to perfect shape. Then I laid them out on my driveway in the sun to dry - took about an hour in bright sun, turning once. We glued (using construction adhesive tubes - a bead around edges an inch in from the edge) the foam on 1/2" Styrofoam insulation panels 2ft x 8ft and then mounted those panels on the drywall with 2-in finishing nails - the panels are very light. I was impressed that these foam squares were perfectly square and consistent in size. I would definitely buy this brand again. I had no issues that people mention about other brands in the comments for those brands. These were perfect in every way I observed.

Good quality and cheap
I didn't think these would work well because of how cheap they are but they made a definite difference

75% of shipment units still compacted after 1 month.
The media could not be loaded. See my video for an example. When I’ve ordered similar products from other sources, I usually expect a 10-20% rate of individual panels that will not fully fluff back up on their own. I use a process of water, soaking, “massaging” and drying that usually works on those panels still resisting assimilation. I’ll be doing that to this shipment as well. However, the tight compacted edges in this shipment that are not fluffing up is about 75% which is a much worse ratio than I have experienced in the past.As they wrote this review, I was surprised by the questions asked. There are no adhesive items added on these panels, thus adhesion is irrelevant. These panels are usually used for reducing echo or reverberation in a room – they do not absorb sound. They also are not designed to be “absorbent.“ Not sure how Amazon came up with those Metrics.

Good sound deadening
Used this on the window of our music room. Neighbors now hate us a little less not as much Marshall noise piecing thru their ears

Great product bad packaging!!!!
It’s a good product just giving it 4 stars cause this is my second time buying them now this is the third pack each time they have came smash. I let them sit out for a while. but it takes days to shap back almost a week I have it try the water way tho. It shouldn’t take time to do if the package was in a way they don’t get smash during transit.

As expected
Does the job as expected. They are not very thick so I would recommend not putting them against the wall directly but against a wood base to trick sound.
