A little goes a long way
I've seen the effect of sun damage after only a few years (my own, when I was younger and dumber). Recently spent a lot of money on a beautiful work of art on my arm that I want to be better about protecting. This product gives me peace of mind that I'm using something specifically good for tattoos. Whether that's scientifically true or not, idk, but I doubt it can hurt in daily care.

Works well
I got this to protect a tattoo on my arm that is exposed to the sun quite a bit. I do feel like it works as described but the way it dispenses is a problem. I can't control how much comes out. When squeezed, too much comes out at once so I end wasting a lot.

This is THE sunscreen for tattoos
I love every Mad Rabbit product to help with my tattoo aftercare and the sunscreen did not disappoint. It isnt greasy, it rubs in easily (and makes your tattoos look reallly good in the process), and keeps them protected from sun damage, which can cause fading and color loss. Oh! And most importantly, I didn’t get a sunburn!

works really well
this sunscreen is light and doesn’t leave a greasy feeling, more importantly it rubs in without leaving my ink white or cloudy looking. i have spent hours in the sun and at the beach, it is good coverage. i will buy this again

Not recommended. Works okay, but…
I am a big fan of certain Mad Rabbit products however, I can NOT recommend this sunscreen. Not worth the money and awful to work with. This is a mineral based sunscreen with perfect ingredients. Reef/ocean safe. Sounds nice in print, unfortunately, This is the only positive I have. It will work, but not without lots of effort on your part. The packaging leaves much to be desired, From the waste of the oversized product box, to the fragile painters tube type container. The container, aluminum? Is easily broken and once that happens, you will need to transfer to a different container. Not nearly as sturdy as even a toothpaste tube. Like toothpaste, you will need to either roll the bottom as you use the product, press/flatten as you go or go crazy and squeeze the tube like a toddler. No matter how you dispense it, the tube will break. The sunscreen itself is awful. Runny, poorly mixed and takes forever to rub it in. It will steak until the watery consistency starts to evaporate and then you rub, and rub, and rub, to try to minimize the ghost effect and get rid of the streaks. You will fail. I’ve tried using more and rubbing it in, using small dabs then rubbing it in, nothing works. You will have to rub, a lot and while it does protect, it will never stop being ghostly white. For me, the effort is not worth the time. I live in South Florida, I’m a beach girl and I don’t have time for this nonsense when I could use a cheaper brand which a long history of quality products that compare and simply work as expected. (See below for the other sunscreens I use and prefer)Overall, I am highly disappointed. For the cost and the effort to use, I won’t buy again. After comparing the mad rabbit brand to others, I find that I continue to prefer Vanicream Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 50+ when I need full coverage sunscreen. It is also a mineral sunscreen, SPF 50+ and it a tube however, unlike mad rabbit, vanicream goes on smooth , has great consistency, properly mixed so no streaking and it is buildable. Most mineral sunscreens can have a white tint, but I find vanicream to be barely noticeable to full out opaque. When I’m on my paddle board for the day, this is my preferred brand for covering my tattoos and a rash guard on top of that for my upper body ink. When I need a clear sunscreen (my face, hands, or daily use so my ink is bright, not white), I use a clear mineral sunscreen like Sun Bum Original Moisturizing Sunscreen Clear Zinc SPF 50. Also, reef/ocean friendly and easy to work with. While I wish I loved the Mad rabbit sunscreen, it’s a nightmare to use. I prefer organic ingredients and while this product sounds good, it’s not worth it to me. It might be worth the work to you so hopefully this review will prepare you for what to expect.
