Firstly i will address safety.i am a qualified electrician with 30 years experience and i have looked this over thoroughly and it is absolutely electrically safe, it complies with all portable appliance regulations, the wiring is perfect and terminated very well with no lose connections or loose strands, the switch, plug top is identical quality to any other desk light table light found in any high-street retail outlet.the only guilty thing about this light fitting i have is the fact i never bought another 3 more when they were even cheaper than todays price.i have found NO justification to be worried about any electrical faults or dangers so i would not turn away due to 1 persons bad experience which happens with the best of products all i can say is mine was electrically sound and i found nothing to suggest the opposite would be the case for you.now regarding colour output, what the other reviewer has said is absolute nonsense as the shade will only reflect or transmit what ever colour lamp your decide to put in the fitting, if you put a cold white or cool white bulb in obviously you are going to see the cooler range in the light spectrum of blues and the light will be ugly and harsh, if you put in a warm white coloured lamp then you would get lovely warm yellow tones and a more pleasing light, so don't listen to that comment about colour transmission through the shade is horrible because that is total utter stupidity and nonsense, all the need do is pick a warm white lamp and it would instantly remove the harsh white light tones over to yellow tones. i had to shake my head at that fool with that comment.anyway buy one they are well worth it

In the images this lamp looks to be giving out a warm bulb-like glow, when in reality it gives out a typical, harsh and cold LED light.If that's what you want then you won't be disappointed, but don't be fooled by the pictures.

So disappointed that the light didn’t work, electrical took it apart and found that it had all been wired incorrectly. I would not advise anyone to purchase this lamp.

This is such a nice and simple lamp. It is small so doesnt take too much space up on the desk and the design is plain but clean which I am happy with. Decent price and quality. Would recommend to others.
