this book has been great for my homeschooling child & we can check her work has the answers on the back as well as a glossary

Been using these books for homeschool for years and I’m always pleased with them.

The work book itself seems pretty good. There are sections that are more like review for a 4th grader, like adding and subtracting single digits, going over all the vowels again, ect. But we will use those like reviews and confidence builders to get to the harder pages. Well, we would if I wasnt returning this thing. I read the reviews about this bring a great work book. But amazon has the reviews ordered by most helpful which means I didnt see the hundreds of reviews pointing out all the mistranslated words. Arst = first, ave = five, and = find. I was looking at the second page with vowels and couldnt figure out what to do because "arst" is not a word in English language. I compared it to the answer key and can see that the answer key is correct. So I guess anytime I cant figure it out I could go look there. But this makes is super annoying and if I we were to keep the book Id want to check every page and correct it because its the entire book! So I think Im going to return it and find something else. Major bummer. If you can get past the translation or grammar errors this would probably be a pretty good work book.

I'm using this as one of the books in my self-made homeschooling curriculum for my son, along with Scholastic and BrainQuest. He had some math and English gaps after moving to the US from a different country. Namely, he hadn't learned multiplication yet.I find this book very thorough and good practice for the skills I am teaching. It requires more writing than the other two workbooks, which is good for improving composition. It's colorful and more engaging than the mainstream public school curriculum we began with. Some of the assignments are more project-like than the practice workbook I expected. These may be helpful for our homeschooling purposes. Science or Social Studies are incorporated into half of the Reading Comprehension section.I have only a few complaints:- They use "not sentence" instead of "fragment".- They use "statement, question, command, and exclamation" instead of "declarative, interrogative, imperative, and exclamatory".Overall, I recommend it.

This is a superb series! The American Education Publishing Company has several series like this particular book, but they are not the same.The series with the animated chalkboard is far superior to the books that have the animated animal characters on the front cover.The annimated chalkboard book covers a variety of content areas that the annimated animal cover book does not. It is truly comprehensive. These books are available for grades 1-6.They contain subject areas such as reading, mathematics, english, environmental science, grammar, spelling, writing, and study skills.Whereas the annimated animal copies only have the basics: Reading, english, math, reading comprehension, and writing.So as you can see, the annimated chalkboard cover series is better geared toward meeting many more content specific skills.They are very difficult to find. When ordering them be very specific. Though the vendor pictures the annimated chalkboard series, they may very well send you the annimated animal series instead.I found my first copy of the series at the Friends of the Library book store for $1.00 and the second copy at either Sam's Club or Walmart for around $9.99.It is my go-to book for introductory materials, guided practice, overhead work, theme lessons, thematic units, independent seatwork, etc. You name it it's in these books.I had the full series, but a careless office store worker who was to spiral the book for me chopped it in half and damages the majority of the book.To replace the book costs around $30, but it's indispensable.

I use this book for homeschooling instead of online curriculum and it has made it so easy for me to give at least 3 assignments a day, check the answers in the back, and call it quits for the rest of the day.
