I use it for switching from solar power to the grid
Excuse my messy wiring in the pic, it's not the final set-up.Now the instructions could be allot better but it's a great unit. Anyway, this unit performs precisely as intended. I initially had to return my initial purchase of this switcher because it was malfunctioning. It simply didn't function properly and emitted a loud noise. I assumed it was a defective unit and got a replacement, which works flawlessly. Here's my setup: I have my solar-powered battery pack as my primary power source, with the grid as a backup. I use it to supply power to my gazebo and everything within my backyard including all the lights, ceiling fans etc. My primary goal was to run the entire backyard entirely on solar power with a seamless transition to the grid when the battery is depleted. I've tested it multiple times, and the transition is truly smooth. The lights remain stable without any noticeable flickering or disruptions.

Works as advertised
The media could not be loaded. Have this running in my camper that has a large solar setup, and also the option to run off shore power. The instructions kind of sucked, but this is the way that I have it connected, and works great. The main trick is the lower lugs need to have jumper wires ran to both sides, and you can pull back out from either side on the bottom. The auto switch favors the left side power, and will automatically switch to the right side power if the left looses power, but if both have power at the same time, you will be getting your power from the left side of the switch. If you plan on running this on a Renogy inverter, you might want to look at the latest model, it seem to have shore power input on it.. I have the older model, so this auto switcher it the way to go for me.

Reliable and Efficient Power Transfer Switch
I recently installed the ONASC 220V 63A 2P Dual Power Automatic Transfer Switch, and I am thoroughly impressed with its performance. This switch has made transitioning between my main power supply and generator seamless. The automatic transfer feature ensures that when there is a power outage, the switch activates instantly, providing a reliable backup without any manual intervention. This has been a lifesaver during power disruptions. The build quality is exceptional. It’s robust, sturdy, and seems very durable, with high-quality materials that ensure long-lasting performance. Installation was straightforward, and the switch fits perfectly into my electrical setup. The clear labeling of inputs and outputs made the whole process easier, even for someone without advanced electrical knowledge. What I appreciate most is the peace of mind this transfer switch provides. It works flawlessly, and I no longer need to worry about the hassle of manually switching to generator power during an outage. The 63A capacity is more than sufficient for my needs, ensuring that all my essential appliances are powered reliably.Overall, I highly recommend the ONASC Automatic Transfer Switch to anyone looking for a dependable and easy-to-use power changeover solution. It’s an excellent product for anyone who wants a smooth, hassle-free power transition during outages.

Dangerous internal short: no
I was happy to pay a little more for an American product, but when I received the switch, it has a short between line and neutral when switched to the "normal" source. Obviously, it was not tested. I'll buy a cheaper Chinese knockoff instead. I hope that most US companies do better than this.UPDATE: My mistake. The resistance between L and N of the normal source is 4K Ohms, which connection I assume is used to control the automatic switch. The switch was fine.

Buy the 3 year protection
It worked well for about 6 months. After that, it would still switch but the amp throughput was diminished and would not run anything. You could get a voltage reading but not enough amps. Should've gotten the protection.

Installed in Cargo Trailer
Installed this in the cargo trailer to switch from shore power (in my case a generator) and battery power. Works beautifully. Haven't had a single problem and well worth the time, effort and $$.

Great little switchover unit
Just enough seperation of the two gang switches in time to prevent out of phase complications between the line supply and my inverter when powered on. Hope it lasts many cycles.
