I am really impressed with this purchase. The box and presentation are nice. The pencils are good quality and I love the colors they included. Watercolor pencils can get very pricey and I looked at many different sets and this is a really great deal. They even included some watercolor paper, a pencil sharpener, an eraser and a color card. The box has directions and tips for using watercolor pencils. Would buy again

The 74-color, watercolor pencil set, by Norberg & Linden, is a good way for artists, who like a wide variety of colors to work with, get started in watercolor painting—especially in coloring books and art journals. The current price, on Amazon, is around $17 which makes the it very affordable.The set comes in a nice cardboard box with a magnetic catch in the front. In the box are two sets of very clear instructions on how to use the colored pencils, a pencil sharpener, a nice 5 x 7 inch pad of heavy watercolor paper, with 12 sheets, and a printed swatch chart.I colored a number of small pictures in my art journal, and I found the cores to be hard enough to keep their points for some time. They seem to work the best when applied dry, with the desired shading, and then blended with a medium-dry brush. I also used them on wet paper. In addition, I used them wet, like regular watercolors, by applying the color to the rough side of a Caran D'Ache palette board and adding water.These paints are advertised as professional quality but there is no light-fast rating, or pigment information, so I'm not really sure how they would be used, professionally, but they are certainly good for using in art journals and coloring books.At the current price of these pencils, it is really hard to go wrong purchasing them if you enjoy working in art journals, doing small pieces of art work, or coloring in coloring books. If you follow the instructions they include, you should be able to turn out some really nice work using these pencils.

This is a very nice set of pencils. Nicely packaged and includes a quality sharpener, eraser, and a small pad of watercolor paper. No brush is includedI’ve been using them dry with a finely detailed coloring book. The colors are strong and smooth, and I really appreciate that each color has a name engraved on the pencil. I have not tried using them with water yet. They sharpen to a nice point that is relatively strong.I needed to add more earthy and neutral tones to my collection of pencils. This set definitely helps, but I still need to fill in some gapsAnother commenter mentioned that there is a kind of strong smell when you first open the box, probably due to the paint that coats each pencil. The smell dissipated pretty quickly.This is a set that I would purchase again 👩🏼‍🎨🙂

I have been telling everyone how great these are. I showed them they don't dye your skin. So that means no dye they use pigments which is what you want. I like the quality of the other products as well. I'm on disability it's hard to afford the expensive products. So I'm happy this company puts out a very good quality and price for people who are pinching pennies. I hope to one day be able to get all the products they have. But very happy with what I have and use.
