I've been buying Rockville gear for years. I've own the air assist speaker stands for years now. I purchased these to mount the speakers over the sub and it works okay. I have to help the speakers (EV Etx 15") up to raise them, unlike my stands with a push of a button they raise automatically which is a life saver. I think the stands have a bigger air assist rating. The pole sits well in the sub port but does have some play (wiggle) in it. I'll keep using them but may need to upgrade

What a great idea and definitely makes life quite a bit easier! I use these poles between JBL 15" subs and Alto TS215 speakers. The Altos aren't terribly heavy, but when you're trying to reach up to pole mount them, it gets a little bit awkward. The self-extending poles make the chore of setting up the speakers a walk in the park. Plop the speakers on top of the pole, squeeze the lever and off they go up to the ceiling! (Or, well, almost.) If you ask me, they're a little pricey, but in the end I can say they're worth it!
