Alpinetech PL8B 8mm 5/16" 120V AC/DC LED Metal Signal Indicator Pilot Dash Light (Red). Great Lamp!
The lamp works great! I purchased the red one. I'm from the old school and I was a little skeptical about purchasing an LED because this was the first time using an LED for 120 VAC as I remember they used to use neon lamps with the built-in resistors. This was to replace a power indicator lamp on a toaster-oven (Farberware 550076). The original lamp was still working however it was this TEENY TINY, piss-weak blue LED, AND it was trying to show through a blue plastic lens on the panel. Blue on blue so you can never tell when the unit was ON by looking at the front panel. Before mounting I tested it. The lamp has a black and white wire. In my case I connected the lamp's black wire to the toaster's blue wire and the lamp's white wire to the toasters's red wire. Then I prayed. I turned the power ON and it worked! I left it on a little while just to make sure that it wasn't going to pop. No problems, was very happy. I mounted it in by reaming the original hole larger and using washers for a better fit and to cover up the original oval hole. All went fantastic at this point. The problem was putting the !@#$%^& cover back on this crappy toaster-oven. My son and I were really trying. It had this tongue and slot mounting system along the two sides and top and it could not be aligned on all sides at the same time to slide into the front panel. So I took the lamp back out and through the !@#$%^& oven in the trash. (Its like a DYI'er can't even take pride in making something better because the rest of it is crap.) BUT I highly recommend this lamp. It was bright for my purposes and the build quality is very good. The wires were braided and had some pretty good gage to them. Well worth the money. So I am saving the lamp for someday. (Writing this review was really therapeutically beneficial to me.) Thank you.

Elegant solution for an annoying problem
I have a switch in my garage that operates the exterior light by the side entrance door.Because it's next to an outlet, I sometimes bump it without realizing it and the light gets left on for however long until I notice it. Not a huge deal in the scheme of things, but still annoying. I could always move the switch, but that's more effort than slightly annoying is worth. There are numerous "pilot light" switches available, but most are either illuminated when off (not useful in this case), don't play well / flicker when used with LED's, or are heavy duty and cost north of $20 per switch. These are about 1/4 of that, so I thought what the heck and ordered a couple.I pulled the wall plate, drilled a 5/16 hole, and wired one in - maybe 10-15 minutes all told. Time will tell on longevity, but on first impression I'm quite happy.Others have commented that the light is dim - I can't say my experience is the same. Perhaps it would be an issue in direct sunlight, but for my situation the LED is plenty bright - more so than the pictures I attached make it appear.

Make sure you double check your order, so you receive what you want
Worked very good for what it was intended for.On previous order of the same light i was sent a 12 volt instead of 120 volt but don't think it was sellers fault. Anyway, seller was very good at communicating with me to get it straightened out!!

Nice pilot light replacement for discontinued Kenmore Freezer
Kenmore Freezer pilot light crapped out & discontinued. Problem for us since our freezer is on a separate circuit and can trip. Light installed easily with a drill to the existing mounting. Soldered the connections .

Not quite as bright LED
Purchased this 110v LED for use on my new 5th wheel toy hauler trailer which came equipped with a generator. With no real way to directly monitor the generators running status from within the truck, I came up with the idea that if I had a way to see some sort of a 'status' light from the truck, perhaps in a mirror while going down the road, it would ease my mind to know I didn't have to worry if the generator was still running. I wired it up to the end of a lamp cord that I cut the end off, and plugged it in to an outlet near the front interior of the storage bay and it works well for that.I installed it in the front under skirt facing forward in a place that I could easily see it under the overhang. Unfortunately it's not as bright as I'd hoped, like most LED's are. This is one of those cases where you hope for a typically annoying very bright blue LED so it can be seen in the harshest of direct sunlight, but that's not the case with this one. Luckily being under the overhang, it's mostly shaded but there's been times it is really hard to see unless I go under and overpass. It's fairly dim compared to what I see out of most LED's. This might be a good thing in some indoor applications though. I might have to replace it with something brighter in the future, we'll see.-1 Star for not being as bright as most, and also no luminosity spec provided in the description.

Works great as pilot light on guitar amp.
I build guitar amps and use these in conjunction with the on switch. I like these better than the traditional fender style with the incandescent bulb or the Marshall neon. They have a nice minimalist modern appearance and are plenty bright for my use. I choose a color that matches the case. Hopefully, as an LED they will last for decades. If you are using this for an amp, note that they run off line voltage not the 6.3V heater winding.

indicator for 3-way light switch
I installed dusk-to-dawn LED bulbs in my exterior light fixtures outside of my garage. These lights or switched on/off from (2) 3-way light switches in the garage. So I decided I needed a method to tell me when the outside light fixtures are turned on (armed) during the day when the lightbulbs internal sensor has the lightbulb off. I drilled a hole in the switch plate based on the diameter of the LED pilot-indicator and then wired it to the fixture wire side of the light switch. happy with purchase...

Nice and Easy
These are bright and easy to use because you don't have to step down the voltage when working with 120Volt control systems. They are well built also.
