Are the lids dishwasher safe?

Yes they are. The lid seal that comes off is safe as well and should be taken off lid for proper sterilization of lid.

Can someone recommend a nice lunch bag that is insulated and will fit this well? i drive a lot so something insulated and reliable!budget not an issue

I've seen some nice. affordable selections here on Amazon. I'm using an insulated lunch bag I bought at my local grocery store. Also, I've seen some great ones from sporting goods. Hope this helps.
