It does hold the phone.
The holder is adjustable. What this means is that you have to push it very hard to get any phone in it. Further more, the mount comes with screws. Who would screw a mount into their dash?! The vent clips scratched my vent badly and I could not get it in. I ended up putting it in a vent that it fits in loosely. We'll see whether or not it falls out every time I use it. Just get a traction mat for your phone. This is a waste of time.

This is a piece of crap -
Terrible advertising and description. This is a very small cradle that won't hold the phones it says it will. Totally useless piece of junk. You get what you pay for. It is more expensive to ship the stupid thing back than it would be worth to return it. Shame on you Amazon. You won't even allow me to rate the seller.

Just awful buy. Wasn't what I expected and I to go to Best Buy to get one that actually worked with ease. Difficult to use.
