Genasun GVB-8-Li-14.2V, Voltage Boosting MPPT Solar Charge Controller for 4S LiFePO4 Batteries. Recommended for Panel up to 105 W and Vmp 13 V (9V-Nominal)

Did some research on Solar Charge Controllers and this one kept coming up, so I purchased it. I connect the solar Panel to it then from the controller to the battery (radio is connect to the battery). On a sunny day I have no problem running the radio all day and walk away with a fully charged battery (I lay the solar panel on the ground in a sunny spot). Even when it gets a little cloudy it still charges, voltage boosting seems to work when it's not 100% sunny. But the good part is I don't get any radio interference in my transceiver. Great product. Going to buy another one for my base station.

Got this to go with my Bioenno LFP battery and 100W solar panel on a camping trip. Worked great charging the battery in good sun. But gave some surprising flashes suggesting errors. Worked with super helpful support to determine that it was trying to charge faster than my battery wanted to accept. Which may have been harmless, limited by the battery's internal protection. But I returned it anyway, and instead got a different charger that let me control the charge current.For those doing DIY assemblies of battery, charger, and panel, be sure to read all the specs carefully and ensure they all match. Charging voltage, charging current, charging power, etc. Min and max for each. It's a bit more complicated than you'd expect.Having been through that exercise, I've learned a lot. And if my next project calls for something that matches the specs of a Genasun device like this, I'd definitely get it. Seems a very high quality product, very simple interface, durable, great support, high efficiency, etc.
