I'm happy with it!
It's kinda weird, if you put in two non Canon batteries, my camera (R8) asks are these genuine Canon batteries, whether you say yes or no it won't let you get the camera to function. If you stick the original Canon battery and a non Canon in the unit, it seems to work! It's a bit temperamental. It hasn't failed while out on a number of camera shoots and the extra hand grip space is great.

Doesn’t connect to extra button to allow vertical shooting
It does hold extra batteries, but does not connect in a way that allows you to shoot comfortably in portrait mode. (It came with a cable that doesn’t fit anywhere and no instructions) I returned it, but never got my money back.
