El YucatecoRed Habanero Hot Sauce - 68 oz. - Half Gallon

There's a time and a place for complex hot sauces, but sometimes you just want to add some hot pepper to your dish, and not mess with the flavor too much. That's what I love about this. I can pour it all over a burger or slice of pizza, or mix it in with my soup, and it's like adding habanero and nothing else. It contains just enough vinegar to be shelf stable, not so much that it turns your food sour. Just the right thickness too, it pours easily without being runny, and you don't have to smack the bottom of the bottle with your palm for four hours trying get it to come out. I like the half gallon size in particular because I can refill smaller bottles. Get a transmission fluid funnel, it's the perfect size for refilling hot sauce bottles.It's definitely not the hottest thing out there though, and I can quite easily end up using half or more of a regular 4oz sized bottle in a sitting. The main advantage here is the red color tends to go better with more dishes. I prefer the heat of the green stuff, but some things just don't look good tinted green. So I try to keep a half gallon of the red around to keep a 4oz bottle topped off at all times. Invest in a transmission fluid funnel--it's the perfect size for refilling hot sauce bottles.

My family was going through the little bottles too fast so was excited to see this. Same great taste.

What can I say, with habanero you get such a strong distinct and amazing flavor. There are not many companies providing a pure habenero flavored hot sauce. They are usually mango habanero, or some other mix of flavors. Being unaltered allows for much more variety in its use cases. I believe I finished my bottle in a little under a year. Throw it in your sauces to spice them up. Put it on your Mexican foods, anything really. If it's too hot, I recommend adding a little to a more mild hot sauce.

I love the flavor - accents Mexican Dishes well - but I am one of these "hot sauce on everything" kind of guy. This sauce is perfect!

Product arrived unsealed. The cap comes off without breaking the seal and there was no secondary peel-away seal under the cap. I bought this as a pantry item and didn't need to open it immediately and only realized this outside the window to return it. Check seals immediately upon receipt!
