I choked on the fortune but I feel fine." Throughout the album, Kevin embraces rebellion, saying f*ck you to a world which tries to control us, doesn't allow each of us to be ourselves. From the beginning note to the final track IN THE CITY steadily demonstrates the battle of finding ultimate self-understanding.

Loved EVERY song
This album is completely awesome! I can't remember the last time I liked an entire album - it would be difficult for me to pick just one favorite. I bought the clean version because my three year old is always with me, and he likes a lot of the same music that I do, but I don't want him repeating certain words or phrases.When I first heard "Let It Rock" on the radio, I thought, "I bet this guy listens to the same 80s music that I do." I also enjoyed the way he incorporates electronica and hip-hop, as well. This artist seems to be influenced by a lot of different music genres, and I think that's why his music is so appealing.There were a couple of ballads that sounded similar to the band Oasis, but out of the slow ones, I thought "Great Escape" was the best. While each song had its own particular flavor, "Welcome to the World" struck me as the next hit song from this album...I could see it becoming as popular as "Let It Rock."I would recommend this album to anyone who listens to a variety of music genres, and still buys new music (not stuck in a particular decade). If you love the single "Let It Rock," you will like the other songs as well!Another recent purchase of mine was Timbaland Presents Shock Value .

If you like "Let It Rock" and "In the City," you'll love the rest of this album as well! The funky basslines and melodies, catchy lyrics, and pure fun of Kevin Rudolf's first CD make it appealing to a wide range of age groups and musical tastes. I've probably listened to this CD a dozen times since I bought it three weeks ago, and I have more than 1,500 albums in my collection waiting to distract me. Whether you're in the mood for some dancin' or just want to rock out in your car, I highly recommend picking up this great album...

Come Alive
I love this artist's music! Very upbeat and inspiring! Modern techno with some rock thrown in. "Let It Rock" is one of my favorite songs ever made! It was featured on WWE programs for the longest time and can pump you up FOR...REAL. This would make an excellent workout CD. Highest possible recommendation!

A great first album!
Most listeners are familiar with Kevin Rudolf from the hit "Let it Rock". Fans of "CSI: NY" will have heard "N.Y.C." a few weeks back starting off one episode (lyrics "In the city of dreams, you get caught up in the schemes...") The album is mainly a paean to New York City, where he grew up, even though he calls Miami home these days. Lyrically the songs are biographic, painful, and playful, sometimes in the same song, as in "Gimme a Sign"!These songs are just a taste of what Kevin has to offer musically: rap, rock, hip-hop, alternative, and funk. He does searing guitar work on most tracks, he has a great singing voice he especially puts to good use on "Let it Rock", "I Song", "Scarred", and "Great Escape". Other standouts are "Livin' it Up", "No Way Out", "Welcome to the World", and "She Can Get It". He slows it down on the dream-like "Great Escape". The production values are right up there with the likes of Timbaland, who he's done guitar work with on some of T's hits for other artists like L'il Kim. Other artists Rudolf has worked with include Justin, Black Eyed Peas, Nelly Furtado, and David Banner.

Really enjoyed this CD. I was after something not so traditional in the "pop/rock" genre. I think this gave me what I was looking for. Something different. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who typically likes pop/rock but gets bored with the "norm" of everything out there.

Meh. Not what I expected. I should have listened to the song samples of all of the songs before I purchased. Well, the library now has a new Kevin Rudolf CD.

Unique sound and lots of great songs!
Kevin Rudolph definitely has a niche with this album. It's unique and original and almost every song is worth listening to. There's something for everyone on this album - chill, club, or rowdy. Get this and you won't be disappointed.
