BangRui Smooth Soft Edge Electric Can Opener with One-Button Start and One-Button Manual Stop (Purple)

I purchased the Banngrui can opener because, with a broken right wrist, I needed a hands free can opener. Almost everything I eat- and lots of what my cat eats- is from cans. This opener has worked well for one week now. It does not turn itself off, but that is no problem- just press the button. It magnetically lifts off most can lids, and, as stated, the lid edges are smooth. You must buy the batteries separately. This opener let me open cans without calling on anyone for assistance. I am most grateful. Hopefully, it will continue to work perfectly.

very easy to use, well made and designed. Although its made of plastic, it looks sturdy enough it should last for a long time. To use, all you had to do is place it on the can and press the button and it'll spin while cutting. Since it doesn't stop automatically, you'll have to press the button to stop it makes it more of a 1.5-2 step process but still super easy, no alignment needed. Whats really wonderful about this opener is the results. It actually opens from the sides of the can makes the opening safe, as well as making the lid "resealable" so by saving the lid, you can press the lid against the can and it'll close the can nicely. by putting some tape around it, it seals it almost as new. Batteries not included (4 AA) .

Easy to place on can and use. Pushing the top of the button starts it and you just have to know to push the bottom of the button to stop it. Doesn't usually pull the lid off on removal of the device, but takes no effort to remove the lid. The only downside I feel is that the batteries needed replacement after 3 months of basically using it once a day. After 2 1/2 months the device seemed to be straining to work but still functioned. When it finally died, it was locked onto the can and wouldn't disengage BUT the battery lid came off easily and new batteries could be inserted with no problem; it started back up at once.

It does work, but hardly ever cuts the lid off on the first try. Seldom will lift the lid off the can. Still better than battling a hand crank opener. Not to bad for the price, I really didn't expect much. UPDATE!! Having used this for 5 months now, I can say that it opens most of my cans on the first go. Now and then I do let it go around the second time. Mine doesn't pick up the lids except on small cans, the magnet isn't very strong, but it's not hard to pop the lid off of the cans. I put four AA batteries in mine the day I got it and have used it almost daily. Batteries are still going strong. It stores nicely in my kitchen drawer. I think it's well worth the price! I've given it two more stars :-)

I ordered this can opener because I have arthritis in my hands and have a hard time using a manual can opener. I have a counter top soft edge electric can opener which is great but not tall enough to open big cans. When I first received this, I opened a big can and was so thrilled with it I decided to buy a bunch to give as gifts to family and friends. I used it two more times, each time opening only one 15 oz can and it worked fine. Then yesterday I used it on a big can again and it went around twice but didn't open. It took three more tries, letting it go around several times each time before it finally opened. Then I had to open two 15 oz cans and it took two tries going around twice before it finally worked on one can, it never opened the second can. My counter top can opener couldn't open it because there was no longer an edge to grab onto so I had to use a manual can opener. I had read the reviews when I ordered it but the good reviews outnumbered the bad reviews and I really needed an opener for big cans so decided to give it a try. For the price, I would expect it to open more than five cans. I haven't tried it again but I hope it isn't completely broken. I'm so disappointed! I really loved it at first! I'm so glad I held off on ordering these can openers as gifts. I found another similar opener (different brand) on Amazon with better reviews. I hope it works better because I took a chance and ordered nine of them.

When I first got this can opener (about 5 months ago), it was awesome. It opened cans cleanly with no sharp edges and is small enough to fit in a cabinet, unlike electric can openers. However, after a few months it just does not work as well and changing the batteries does not help one bit. I have to use it four to five times on the same can and hope that it will eventually cut the top off. This is so frustrating when I just want to get dinner on the table on time--but instead I end up wasting time while begging this ridiculous can opener to do it's job. Don't buy it. It is garbage.

UPDATE: Ok, when I'm wrong I admit I'm wrong. This little can opener is just fine. It's now Dec 2020 (thank goodness it's almost over!) and opener is still going strong. Not sure why I had SO much trouble at first, but it works great now. I will say use some GOOD batteries and make sure opener goes around the complete area because it does take its sweet time to open. Also, push the button to start but also push to release opener. This is a good purchase and I WOULD BUY AGAIN. ORIGINAL: It runs slowly even with new batteries. It refused to come off when done opening lid. It's a pain in the butt and I hate it. It's still better than a hand crank opener but save yourself some frustration and pay a cpl dollars more to get a better quality product. Only positive is color looks pretty.

I bought my mother a tall can opener last year that didn't last long. It was very sometimey and it had just become ridiculous to open cans. My moms hands have been bothering her and she asked if I could find something else. She had bought one of the old timer hand crank openers, and that just wouldn't do. So, I scouted about on Amazon and found this one. Researched. Read reviews, and purchased. I have to say that it was the best purchase ever. It opens cans in a way that you can't get cut. You can set the lid right back on the can and noone would even know you've opened it. It's amazing and I'm glad I found it. Now my daughter wants one for her new apartment.

Due to having Parkinson’s I needed some help opening jars. This did the job and was heaps cheaper than buying the same item from a disability store

It’s so simple to use - put it on the top of the can, press the button and away it goes. You can even take your hands away. When it is finished press the button again and it stops in about a second. A magnet removes the lid and no sharp ages. Best can opener I’ve ever seen.

Works really well. At first I didn't think it was cutting the lid, but a pull on the lid after the opener had gone around once revealed that had cut it. The magnet wasn't strong enough to pull the lid off when I lifted it. No problem though. No sharp edges. Doesn't take up space on the counter, keep it in the cupboard. Really great tool.
