Roughneck ROU68046 Serrated Edge Shovel 1070mm/42"

This is a nice robust pointed edge spade which is great for digging out plants and cutting through roots, one edge of the spade has a serrated edge which is great for hard soil or cutting through smaller roots. I like that the handles are a composite construction which helps to reduce vibration and shock. Overall this is a well made and great value spade which I would recommend.

This spade is proper quality, very well made, feels really solid in your hands, the serrated edge is brilliant too, definitely worth the money. !!!

Best shovel i have ever bought it is very strong and durable, I have put it through its paces this week ripping 2 gardens full of grass and taking out plants that have been rooted for a lot of years including roses and fuchsia which gave me a hard fight and I expected the spade to bend or snap but it did the job and they was no defects shown on the shovel at all, very impressed

Very strongly made and fairly heavy compared to other shovels, this was bought to make digging in hard soil easier. So far it has made very short work of digging a large shrub out of the ground, and it has also proven itself in harder clay soil. The serrated edge really does cut through roots, even if you have to hit them two or three times. It was easier using this than our flat spade which we used to use for chopping roots, which is still sharp itself. Would certainly buy again.

Good quality spade. I had my doubts for the price but was pleasantly surprised how easily it cut through the roots of a Yuka plant I was digging up.

Really good spade. All my roughneck tools have been good. Good for cutting through roots. Doesnt flex much when lifting out roots.

Needed a new spade, our old one with a standard square blade had rusted and was getting a bit wobbly. I've had a few 'Roughneck' crowbars and odds and sods before so thought I'd give this a go. It's absolutely fantastic! Genuinely, I don't think I've ever seen or held a more solidly built spade. It gives complete confidence that it's not going to fall apart any second and the design of the blade is just amazing. With this I can dig into areas that were simply impossible with the old tools. The serated edge slices through thick roots making clearing areas an absolute breeze. I'd been trying for an hour or so with the old spade to remove some dead old shrub roots from a flower bed. I was struggling and still had work to do. This did it in about 5 minutes and within the next half hour I'd taken out several similar old plants. An excellent buy and a joy to use. Very highly recommended.
