Awesome game for 2 to 4 players
This game works great with 2 players and also with 4. Game length was roughly 30-40 minutes no matter how many players you have.My wife and I typically just play games with only the two of us, so it's important that a game is fun and well-balanced with only two players. Thankfully, CV is a great fit. The rules are rather simple. Plus, the board itself provides setup and gameplay hints, so after you've learned how to play you shouldn't really need to reference the rulebook to get started the next time. The game is a bit of a deckbuilder and as such, many of the cards have 'benefits' to them. All of the cards are numbered and any of the cards that could be confusing are further described in the back of the rulebook. There have been a couple occasions where we found our initial assumption as to how a card works to be wrong once we referenced the book. However, overall, the cards and game are pretty intuitive. We did notice that the game strategy changes quite a bit when you play with 4 rather than 2 players. However, I wouldn't say that either format was more or less fun than the other.. just different. This game quickly became one of our favorites. We aren't much into the storytelling aspect of the game (we're like that with any game), but we do find the art and wording on the cards to be fun. However, we have a set of friends that just love to roleplay with this game.We highly recommend this game.

Cute and fun board game
This game is super fun. I've played it with only my husband (2 players total) and then also in a group (4 players total) and it was fun both ways. It's a fast paced game with the most complected part being the scoring at the end. I think a phone app that helped tally the end victory points would be nice, but one doesn't seem to exist at this time. This was purchased as a gift for my husband who loves games and it was perfect. It's a good couples game for when you don't have anyone else to play with and also good for when you have a few friends over. It's not a seriously competitive game so it's perfect for when you may be playing with someone who can take things a little too hard, especially when losing. I think it would be difficult to get bent out of shape while playing CV. It also moves quickly enough that you could play a few times in a row if you wanted (this is not going to be an all night game of Axis and Allies). The art work on the cards is comical and can spark multiple funny discussions. For example, the "scientist" card depicts a witch throwing items into a cauldron; my scientist friend who received this card during game play found it to be hilarious. Over all this is a really fun board game.

Easy to Learn, Fun to Play, and Humorous Art
I'll start by saying that my biggest complaint about this game is it only serves 4 players, and I want more cards.I found it refreshingly easy to play with a dash of strategy and three or four dashes of random. Random is going to be a key part here because of all the dice involved, and this will be a no go for those who hate that random aspect. I imagine those who hate dice and love incredible depth are playing the likes of Terra Mystica though, not CV.So CV is basically a game akin to life. You start off in your early stages of life with some memories you get as a couple of one time use cards. Then you start going through the various stages of life getting things like knowledge and education, relationships, things and so on. It's a simple enough game that if your kids like games and have the patience to learn some very basic functions, it wouldn't be hard for them to pick up either. The pictures on the cards are even fun, and maybe you'll get a chance to explain why working at a family members company would give them so much money but some... unhappiness.Anyway, this isn't going to replace some of the more complex games, but it's great for a small group that wants to socialize while playing and is just a couple steps up from a straight up casual game. It's also a kind of game I would take with me on a trip to the beach or something like that since the components aren't crazy and again you can sit around and enjoy some friendly competition.

One of the COOLEST games on the market!!!!
This game is nothing but FUN!! What really grabs me is all the combinations in the cards. You roll dice, then re-roll some of the dice, and use this Yahtzee mechanic to your advantage. Between the tokens on cards, and symbols on the dice, you buy more cards and put the best ones on top of the stack for future use. What's especially nice is that your use of the mechanics can change, while still keeping the same overall strategy. The game takes some thinking, but not a lot. The artwork on the cards is quite humorous, and the game is a very high production, being well thought out. End game scoring is VERY easy!! I'd call it a very good family game, and at the same time being way more than just a filler. CV is one of those games you look forward to playing, and not something to play because you don't feel like playing anything else. Rahdo Runs Through calls it "Joy and happiness in a box", and I totally agree. Watch some reviews of CV on You Tube. You will agree that it's a MUST HAVE game. It's in my top 10 favorites!!

Fast and Easy to Play/Learn How to Play with Lots of Re-Play Value
CV is a really fun game! I bought it recently and have really enjoyed myself when friends and I have played it. The rules are simple and easy to follow, and the gameplay flows so smoothly! I am convinced, however, that those behind this game consulted with those who made The Pursuit of Happiness, there's a lot of similarities behind terminology and rules. That isn't a bad thing by any means though; Pursuit of Happiness is one of my favorite games! And I'd reccomend you this game over it if you prefer something that is faster to learn how to play and in overall gameplay time itself, and especially if you like card-based, luck of the draw, and/or Yahtzee style games. It's really good game; I can't reccommend it enough.

At first set of game it was very fun, however after the first game we never picked ...
My family and I play a lot of board games. At first set of game it was very fun, however after the first game we never picked it up anymore. I was looking forward on playing this board game because of the reviews but it didn't really cut out for us since the excitement died down after one playthrough. And it was very expensive for one time use.
