Don’t Die in The Woods – World’s Toughest Emergency Blankets [Orange]

I am so in love with these Don’t Die in the Woods emergency blankets! Incredible quality and amazing value for the price. All pros, no cons: * Beautiful and sturdy packaging and carrying case * Cutest individual drawstring bags (a little bigger than a salt or pepper shaker, see picture) * Thickest mylar blanket I’ve owned; very tear-resistant and can be reused multiple times * Works perfectky to keep you very warm; my husband and I had to use it in a real-life “survival” situation, and this blanket delivered. We were hiking at a national park (bordering Canada) and so in awe with the cliff views, we lost track of time until we realized the sun had begun to set. We had one hour until total darkness, and were miles away from our campsite where we had our tent, sleeping pads and sleeping bags set up. The nearest backcountry campsite was over 2 miles away and we (40 & 50 y.o. respectively) knew we couldn’t do that in less than an hour, on a cliffside trail with moderate to difficult level before it was pitch dark. We couldn’t go back or forward, so we realized we’d have to spend the night in the forest, and set up camp while there was still sunlight. We had all kinds of essentials in our packs (ultralight waterproof tarp, paracord, titanium stakes, emergency blanket, fire starters and lighter, sources of light and power banks, extra layers and wool socks, water and snacks, and even compressed travel pillows, etc., so we were prepared for the situation). We set one of these blankets on the ground over a bed of leaves to insulate us from ground moisture, and used the other to cover ourselves. Temps stayed in the low 50s overnight - not too bad but still chilly, though we were perfectly warm under this blanket, even when it rained at 4am. Back at camp the next day, we found our tent and bedding all wet from the rain, because (another mistake) we had left the door of the rainfly open for ventilation (when we thought we’d be back after the day hike). We were able to mop the tent floor and the waterproof sleeping pad, but there was no way to dry our sleeping bags, so we reused the emergency blanket and it kept us warm again. We refolded it and have it ready for future adventures, though once it was used, we weren’t able to stuff it back in the little drawstring bag again, so used a bigger pouch (then stored it in the carrying case once we got home).

The larger pack on left holds all 4 of the emergency blankets. It is a nice small compact holder for all 4 blankets. It measures 5.5in Length, 4in Wide and 2in Deep. The carabiner is a nice touch to quickly attach to a bag, belt ect. The individual blankets come in their own separate bags which is nice if you want to keep them in multiple locations like a car, house, bug out bag etc or share with someone. The individual blankets take up very little room and measure 3.5in Length, 2in Wide and 1in Deep and could probably be squeezed even smaller to take up less room. Quality- I opened 1 of the individual blankets to check out how well it would be if I needed to use it. The material is much thicker than the typical emergency blankets I've seen elsewhere and doesn't feel like the others where it feels like they would rip super easily. It is definitely thicker and more sturdy than others and the non mylar side feels thick like a gallon zip lock bag and not like a cheap plastic bag from a grocery store. My opinion is that the emergency blankets is worth the higher price than cheaper ones. Would be able to reuse without worrying of it ripping and the multiple individual packages allows you to easily place or tie them to multiple locations so one is always handy.

It is thick and tough. Good and serves its purpose. Not sure why one side is painted in camo, thou.

I have never used this product as a way to preserve body heat. However, I work as a firefighter, and my department uses cheaper emergency blankets to treat shock and hypothermia patients. Those blankets tear when one just looks at them. While these blankets are thin, they are designed to be lightweight, compact, and fairly easy to deploy. These blankets meet that description. I took one out of a package and tried to tear it. It did not tear easily. That alone makes it a million times better than the ones my department uses for patient care. I put two of these in my bug out bag and two in my car for winter use. I have seen some negative reviews of these where people complained they were thin. Yes, that is part of the design. I did not try use one as a tarp. I would not expect it to survive that type of use. A person has to understand what a product is as well as its intended use. Like I said before, these are a million times better than the ones my department uses. The only drawback is that these will not be able to get put back into their tiny storage bags once they are taken out. I took the two I will use in my bug out bag out of the be stuff roll and placed them inside the larger pouch the four pouches came in.

I like these blankets. Four family members four emergency blankets all stored together ready for easy use All stored in a small sized pack. The size and weight are almost nothing and to have these blankets near by ready gives us a sense of comfort knowing we can get some warmth if traveling across the country and we have an emergency in the middle of nowhere. These are just left in our vehicle’s center console ready

Thick Mylar blankets. Not as thick as a triage blanket but better than the $2 ones. Super warm and work well, but be aware Mylar doesn’t breathe well. They’re great for vehicle emergency or preparedness kits. A little expensive but worth it imo

Purchased for bushcraft/hiking & motorcycle camping! Ultralight but very durable emergency blankets/tarps or ground sheets. Lots of uses ! Camo version looks awesome & the pouch is well made & good quality!! Fantastic product! Very happy & will buy again no doubt!

I haven't used it yet, As it is in our 72HR Bug Out Bags! It looks very thin, but if you are wet and cold it will work better than nothing!
