Kinda Dark.
"Book of Shadows: Red, White, and Black Magic" by Brittany Nightshade offers an enchanting and eclectic grimoire, perfect for both beginners and seasoned practitioners of magic. This thoughtfully curated collection of spells, rituals, and magical lore draws directly from Nightshade’s personal Book of Shadows, giving readers access to a wide range of practical magic rooted in diverse traditions. The book covers an impressive array of topics, from basic protective spells like the *Spell of Protection* and "Rune of Protection" to more complex rituals, including the "Summoning of Hecate" and "Blessings of Nyx". Whether you're looking to create moon water, craft a protection potion, or summon a storm, Nightshade provides clear instructions for each ritual, making this guide accessible even to those new to witchcraft. One of the most notable aspects of this grimoire is its balance between red, white, and black magic, allowing practitioners to explore different paths of magic based on their intentions and needs. Spells for love, prosperity, and healing sit alongside more intense rituals such as the "Effigy Curse Spell" or "Binding by Fear". This balance invites readers to understand the nature of both light and dark forces within the craft. The "Book of Shadows" also features a detailed rune guide, candle magic, and moon magic practices, giving it a well-rounded, holistic approach to magical study. It serves not only as a spellbook but also as a source of inspiration and guidance for those walking any magical path, including Wicca, witchcraft, and other pagan traditions.Whether you are seeking to manifest positivity, banish negativity, or explore your own magical power, "Book of Shadows: Red, White, and Black Magic" is a treasure trove of knowledge. Its practical, easy-to-follow rituals and spell work make it an essential companion for anyone looking to deepen their magical practice.

Buy it
As a beginner I recommend to buy it, honestly a great book in general for any practitioner, don’t think there’s just “baby” stuff in here, definitely carries spells that test ur skills, and possibly boundaries. I haven’t brought myself to work with deities, truly it’s difficult with my Christian belief.. maybe one day

Charming and useful DIY spellbook
This is a great database including a number of spells, I use it for ideas when crafting my own spells and techniques. I think the author's charm and passion for the craft really shine, and I would encourage this over a spellbook from a major publisher.I will say that I am of the belief that the spells by themselves won't necessarily be effective. They are best incorporated into a broader magick practice and understanding. I have adapted a number of spells from this into my own practice, remember that magick is personal and you may feel free to personalize each spell.I especially appreciate that she has shared white, grey, and black magick spells. Don't listen to people who warn you away from the black and grey altogether. Even if you don't want to practice the black, it is good to understand it lest another use it against you. Each individual witch should be free to practice as they like, of course understanding the risks therein. There are some minor spelling and grammatical errors. I actually appreciate them as contributing to a more "rough-hewn," authentic feeling DIY work. None of these detract from the quality of the book.My thanks to the author, and a welcome addition to my occult library.

Not the worst
I have different views, but it was definitely not the worst. I found some rune meanings to different than that of my studies (some offering emphasis on more subtle meanings, others I didn’t accept at all).Aside from beliefs, it was well written and even though I would have chose to organize it differently, it was at least organized well. Author did a good job and I would recommend among my group for studying purposes as the author clearly has a grasp on magic which is by no means wrong in any way.
