Excellent support & pain relief for quads, hips and back
Despite practicing yoga and meditation for years, I have tight quads, as well as painful hips and lower back. I have fibromyalgia, but I think this cushion would benefit anyone with similar tight or painful areas. This cushion positions me with a forward tilt while supporting my upper legs. My quads can relax in a supported stretch. It's easier to sit up straight, and my back fatigues far more slowly. I'm so pleased and relieved!

Allows for longer sit time, with comfort
I have a lot of back pain issues. This is FINALLY a cushion that works.... for me. It is very heavy as mentioned by others. Not one you would use for taking to Sangha or trips. It has made it possible for me not to have to move and my legs don't have the numbing until well into 45 minutes where before it was 15 minutes. I can put it up against the wall so there is even more of an angle to prop you up. It's movable as far as the "legs" you can move them to fit your particular posture that sit. If you suffer from back pain, try it. It truly has changed by sit time and quality of it.

A big improvement over a round zafu
I'm older, have some arthritis, and recently have been struggling with finding a good support for meditation. On impulse, I got one of these, and immediately decided it was the best seat I'd ever had.For many years I used a round zafu filled with kapok (fiber), but recently, I've been unable to get comfortable. If I sat properly upright, my legs fell asleep within 15 minutes. If I sat back, my coccyx hurt, and, because I wasn't up straight, the meditation went poorly. (I sit in "Burmese posture" -- with the legs in triangle shapes, but one leg in front of the other rather than on top of the other.)I tried chairs, benches, alternate postures, and pretty much all of them were no significant help. I experimented with putting a cushion under a zafu -- some help, but then it gets tricky to get everything lined up. I was about to try putting beanbags under my knees, when I found out about this cushion. My immediate response was, "This is a keeper" -- my position was so much improved that I automatically was able to meditate better -- less likely to get drowsy or agitated. It is taking a while to get completely used to it, and to get my body used to 30 - 45 minute meditation sessions, but this cushion made an immediate, large, improvement. As others have mentioned, it's filled with buckwheat hulls, and so it is much heavier than a zafu. It has a convenient carrying handle with a tag on it, so it's really not a big deal to carry. I'd be tempted to wish for the same cushion stuffed with kapok, but hey.My suggestion: Sit on it, get comfy, and then have someone check your posture. If you're too high, it's easy to take out some buckwheat hulls. If you're too low, you can hold one end in each hand and shake some hulls up towards the center. Once you know what the right posture is, happy meditations.

SO COMFORTABLE!
I hurt my knee last year and itโs definitely made it difficult to stay sitting longer and I have had a lil back pain for a couple months. I tried a meditating class and I realised it was incredibly uncomfortable ๐ฃ this made me sad because I really wanted to continue this meditation course soooo after some google search I found this brand! OMG today at class I was able to sit thru 30 mins of meditation with NO PAIN, and it felt amazing! Sooo happy I found this cushion ๐๐ผโฅ๏ธ

Great Discovery for me
I have hip and leg pain from osteoarthritis. Also not very open hips. This cushion is so comfortable and my legs and hips do not hurt. I have been meditating for many years and used a "smile" cushion for years but as the arthritis got worse, my legs and hips would begin to hurt soon after sitting. This cushion provides support for my legs and I am able to sit in the cross-legged position I prefer with little discomfort. This is the same cushion sold by Hugger Mugger through their website at the same price BUT with Amazon Prime, you get free shipping.

VERY comfortable
One thing to remember is it's like sitting on a beach, where you would make space in the sand that fits you correctly. In this case you have to adjust the positioning of the cushion a little when you first sit down on it to get it right. (You may need to remove hulls if it's too high for you, but I didn't.)

High quality meditation cushion!
This meditation cushion has really helped deepen my meditation practice. It is soft yet durable, and is the perfect height for me to keep my hips above my knees so that I can keep my back straight. I've had it for close to a year now, and only now it's starting to get crushed a little bit from daily use, but still works great. Just need to fluff it up a little and it's back to normal. Love the little wings as well - they help support more than a traditional round meditation cushion. Would highly recommend it!

what a comfortable cushion.
Ahhh, what a comfortable cushion.Update 12/15- the filling was leaking out due to the facts that it is not contained in anything inside. Just filling and the cloth exterior. Was at an I say event, using this daily. I would come into class in the a.m and see pieces of filling in my mat from the day before. At first I didn't think it had anything to do with my mugger, maybe someone had spilled on my mat? Then saw zipper ever so slightly was opening with use. VERY disappointing as it is now less firm.Update...8/16 Almost a year since my first review. I use this cushion regularly, no more leaking buckwheat hulls, which tells me what I had originally suspected was correct. Sadly, someone had twice taken out of my cushion at an event where the cushion stayed out in conference room overnight for 5 days. Pitiful isn't it? I love this cushion, perfect support and doesn't leak filling.
