Sometimes a lipstick just works for you and when it does, you order more than one. I have three of these Carter Beauty lipsticks. Two are reds and this one is an orange.This orange is lighter than I wanted it to be but I still like the tone of it. If it were just a bit deeper, I'd be happier.It lasts a long while for me. Of course if I'm eating and wiping with a napkin it's going to come off faster, but for drinking, and regular day-to-day, it stays on my lips for a decent amount of time.It's not drying to my lips and that's a plus--I put it on and forget it and that's what I want. Not greasy or 'slippery.'I don't care for the iniitial waxyish 'taste' of it, but that seems to dissipate quickly.I also don't care for how they say they are an Irish company but clearly the lipsticks are made in PRC (China).

We got this for my wife, but the first tube we received had the lip stick broken off in the tube and stuck to the lid, which made it pretty much unusable. We got a replacement and the second one wasn't broken. So not a great first impression.We got the melanie color which is a very bright red. It applies easily and smoothly with a nice matte finish. It didn't seem to be much longer lasting that most other lipsticks. It is a very striking and bright color. My wife likes it and it contrasts well with her darker skin tone.Ultimately you may have to get a replacement for it as I see there are others who's lipsticks had issues with being broken in the same way our first one was. It looks good, but are the potential problems worth it? You'll have to decide.

The description claims this is formulated with stay all day power? Not true. It doesn't dry down like a matte lipstick would despite the name so it transfers very easily when drinking, eating, kissing.The formula is velvety and soft and doesn't make the lips feel dry.The color Debbie is much more orange than the pictures appeared online. I actually expected a darker dusty rose color. I wish they showed models wearing the shades. The pictures they have posted are make it really difficult to see what youre getting.The shade Debbie is currently on sale for $5 but the original price is $14. For that much you'd think they could afford to take some pictures of women wearing the shades. I'd like to repurchase in the shade Maya because but that one is not on sale and Im not wasting $14 to be disappointed again.Decent lipstick for the sale price. It doesn't last all day but it doesnt dry you out either. Chose your shade carefully.

It will show every fault in your lips. The color is pretty bright like a toned-down fuchsia. If you are a fan of pink lipsticks, you will probably love this one. I did use a nude liner from NYX to tone this one down a bit since it is so bright. At first I thought this was maybe a 4 star because it was so vibrant and shocking when I put on this color. I changed my mind to 5 though by the end of the day though based on performance.For a matte it doesn’t feel very drying, and it’s very nice and opaque to cover my massively chapped lips. The before and after on my lips was very satisfying.I was also impressed that 3-4 hours later after constant coffee, soda, snacks and dinner it’s still on and pretty bright. Sure some has worn off, but my lips still look totally stained bright pink and shaped nicely and absolutely full of color after near constant contact with glasses and snacks and such.I need to change my initial impression of this to 5 stars, as it’s a perfect choice for a date night or night out when you know you are going to be eating and drinking and want your lipstick to have some staying power to last the night. It’s worth it as a lip stain alone.The bright color even wore on me with time and I didn’t dislike it once I got used to it. It could work well with the correct outfit. It also looks less fluorescent once it fades a little.I think it could look even better with a gloss over it to change it into a wet look too.I’m going on a trip soon and this will definitely make the cut for my top choices for a weekend away.Overall I’d recommend it.
